Looking for a good book on Existentialism

Post by jacatone »

I've always been a big fan of Existentialism, but haven't been able to find any current books on the subject. Sarte's books seem to be the last great ones. Thanks.

I prefer Camus to Sartre, because Camus shows whereas Sartre kvetches.

You must read the existentialist bible, then: Either/Or by Soren Kierkegaard!

"It is an either/or that makes a man greater than the angels."

I love that line!

You could also check out Fear and Trembling by the same author. Any of Nietzsche would also help. Oh, and add some Heidegger whilst your at it; preferably his essay on existentialism and humanism (separate from Sartre's one by the same title).
