Greeting others etc..

Post by dattaswami »

IGNORANCE OF TRUE KNOWLEDGE CAUSES SIN

Generally, people greet others wishing a happy festival or wishing a happy birthday etc. We must analyze every word and action of us to find out the truth. The first question you have to put to yourself is “Are you, just a general soul, competent of wishing something good or bad for other souls?” You cannot wish anything good or bad even for yourself.

Therefore, there is no use of cursing or wishing good for others. The good or bad in your case or in the case of others happens according to the results of the previous deeds. Your wish cannot change the established mechanism of the divine system of deeds and fruits. Only God is competent to change this divine system. Some people are aware of this fact and therefore, greet “May God bless you”. This statement is also wrong on analysis. Are you dictating God or instructing God to bless somebody or even yourself?

In fact, God never harms or blesses anyone as per the Gita (Naadatte kasyachit…). God has created the divine system of deeds and fruits and the system acts in a mechanical way under the instruction of God only. The rule maker will never break the rule. In fact, God subjected Himself to the rule to show that the rule is absolute and inevitable (Evam pravartitam... Gita). The result of killing Vali by hiding Himself behind a tree was enjoyed by the Lord in the next birth. Even if you say that you are praying God to help somebody, it is also wrong. Does this mean that you are requesting God to help some undeserving human being? That means, you are trying to influence God to do a wrong thing.

If the human being is deserving, God will help him even without your wish. If you are aware of this fact, you need not wish. The last possibility of your wish is that some soul is deserving and God is either ignorant or cruel in not helping it and therefore, you are making God aware of the forgotten point or you are softening the cruel heart of God. Both these options are totally wrong because God is never ignorant and is never cruel. Therefore, the meaning of your statement becomes zero. If you state something, which does not mean anything, you must be mad.

If you are interested in the welfare of somebody, the only way is to state “Please pray God on this occasion so that He will change your mind through divine knowledge and get rid of you from all the results of sins or all deeds.” By such statement, you do not expect the violation of the divine system in any way. The reason for all sins is absence of divine knowledge or the firm realization of it to implement it in practice. If you realize your sins and do not repeat them, all your past and present sins get cancelled.

Mere knowing of divine knowledge is not sufficient to give this wonderful result. After knowing, you should memorize it again and again so that you will implement it in practice. Such state of knowledge is called as ‘Realization’. Only realization can cancel the sins. Realization is the knowledge with deep intensity and is called as knowledge-fire. The Gita says that the knowledge-fire can burn all the previous deeds. The Bible also says that Jesus will come to sprinkle fire on the people in the place of water. Here, water means the process of mere knowledge. Fire means the intensified knowledge so that practical implementation of it takes place.

Knowledge can be given by any preacher. But, God in human form like Krishna or Jesus can alone give the knowledge-fire. Therefore, a better statement will be “Please find out the contemporary human incarnation and get the divine knowledge from Him. You memorize such divine knowledge so that it becomes knowledge-fire and burn all your sins so that you will be happy in this world, or let it burn all your deeds so that you will get salvation.” In fact, the Gita says that the knowledge-fire would burn all the deeds, which are good and bad.

Such stage indicates the absence of any selfish ambition for happiness. All the actions of the soul in such state are meant for God only and there is no selfishness. Such state gives salvation not only in this world, but also in the upper world. The burning of sins only gives happiness in this world only.

Man oh day, do I ever love Saraswati.
I truly do.
She is a part of my life, my consciousness.
She is the very vibrational frequency of my Being.
She has been with me since I was just a boy.

I love to hear about Saraswati ...

The gender exists in imaginable creation (Paraashakti) only and not in unimaginable creator (Aadi Shakti). Aadi Paraashakti means both without merge. We can take the feminine form in imaginable Paraashakti only (who is a part of Aadi Paraashakti) and not in unimaginable Aadi Shakti. We have the divine feminine forms like Anaghaa, Sarasvati, Lakshmi, Parvati etc., who is exactly equal to God Datta in the original state of actor even though they act in the roles of ordinary devoted souls worshipping the male divine forms. Parvati is in the role of devoted soul of God Shiva, but, entered climax devotion in which she became Mahaa Kaali to dance on God Shiva as the master of God!

Even in the phase of creation, you can’t separate the power from the possessor of power like sunlight from sun. In the unimaginable domain, both power and possessor of power are unimaginable. Any number of unimaginable items result only in one unimaginable item. Hence, actually, Shakti called Yogamaayaa or Mahaamaayaa and Parabrahman (unimaginable God) are one and the same unimaginable God or unimaginable divine power. All these dramas acted by God Datta and His incarnations like Parashuraama are only to preach this humanity and you should take them as roles only and not as the actor. There is only one basic actor, God Datta, Who is playing in different roles to preach the devotees through audio-video technique.

Shakti means force in general sense. Rudra means anger. When both are joined as Ardhanaariishvara, it becomes anger with full force to destroy any devilish enemy.

Shakti makes you strong in all good angles. Rudra makes you to destroy the evil enemies and this also a good angle. Hence, there is no difference between the two worships. In both God is only one having good angles only.

Rudra is masculine and Shakti is feminine. Rudra stands for knowledge and Shakti stands for Tamas without discrimination. In the final dissolution, total destruction must be done without discriminating good and bad. Rudra needs this Shakti when the final dissolution comes. The sun in day time represents intelligence and knowledge (Tat savituḥ… Dhiyo yo naḥ… Veda). The moon in the night represents mind and emotional background of darkness. This divine ignorance is different from mortal ignorance. Mortal ignorance is blindness from birth. Divine ignorance is induced ignorance by closing the eyes. At any time, the eyes can be opened and knowledge can be referred to. The divine ignorance or Tamas is full determination after very sharp intellectual analysis, which is just firmness in the right direction. God Shiva is the deity of the divine ignorance, which means the final firmness in the spiritual line. This divine ignorance is correctly told as firm decision and not as foolish ignorance. Rigidity in the right direction is the divine Tamas of Lord Shiva and unless this is achieved in final step, success in spiritual line is impossible. This indicates the stability of true spiritual knowledge and does not indicate blind ignorance.

Every incarnation of Parabrahman (unimaginable God) contains the divine medium of Adi Shakti. Without this medium, we cannot even imagine God. Hence, Adi Shakti, the divine mother helps us to worship the unimaginable God expressed through medium for our convenience. From this point of view, Shankara and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa worshipped the divine mother.

Both Shiva and Vishnu are one and the same. The difference is only between their devotees. Quick achievement leads to quick destruction also, when the steady analysis of knowledge is not done. God is diplomatic in granting a bad boon quickly and granting a good boon after a long time. This dual behaviour satisfies the souls having hasty and stable backgrounds.

Shiva has the white colour of Sattvam (knowledge) and it is said that Shiva gives the knowledge (Jñānaṃ Maheśvarāt icchet). Vishnu is the deity of Sattvam or knowledge (Sattvāt saṃjāyate Jñānam). Brahma is the author of Veda or knowledge (Vidul-Jñāne). This means any form of the divine trinity gives knowledge and acts as the preacher. Since God Datta present in each of these three forms is the preacher (Guru Datta), knowledge can be obtained from any form of God. All energetic and human incarnations are from God Datta only.

Shakti is in two phases:-

1. Causal phase or Kaarana Shakti meaning the original unimaginable God or Parabrahman. The word Shakti here means unimaginable God.

2. Effective phase or Kaarya Shakti meaning the created creation by Parabrahman. Here, Kaaryaa means the product or creation. Kaarya Shakti means the energy that is modified into creation. Such energy is inert energy. The word Shakti here is imaginable inert energy. Kaarya Shakti finally means this imaginable creation, which is various modifications of inert energy.

Hence, Shakti represents both creator and creation. Similarly, Brahman or Purusha is in two phases:-

1. Kaarana Brahman or Nirguna Brahman or the cause of creation. Here, Brahman stands for the unimaginable God.

2. Kaarya Brahman or Saguna Brahman or the effect called creation. Here, the word Kaarya means effect or creation. Here, the word Brahman means the greatest and hence, Kaarya Brahman means the greatest creation.

Taking the meaning of Brahman in the word ‘Saguna Brahman’ as the unimaginable God, Saguna Brahman also means the creator mediated by a part of the creation like God Datta, God Brahma, etc. Similarly, taking the meaning of the word Shakti (unimaginable power) as unimaginable God, Kaarya Shakti means the creator mediated by a part of creation like Goddess Anagha, Goddess Sarasvati, etc. The transitory nature belongs to the creation and not to the creator.

Shiva is mediated God thereby meaning that the creator is mediated by a part of the creation. Shakti is a general term indicating the creator and the creation. You can bring comparison between God Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Brahman and Shakti are comparable terms.

Thank you for your kind and pertinent response. You have precisely and compassionately provided a general map of cause and effect for human behavior; you have explained potential and kinetic energy applied to people as you noted, “through the roles and not the actors.” Anyone interested need only follow all the leads that you provide as signposts to study and understand the significance of these roles, and taken all together in relationship they explain much about the way things are. The truth of archetype and effect is not limited to individual personality, but revealed in the relationship of roles.

I had not before considered the following from the angle that you present … not considered in the abstract the necessity of divine ignorance. It’s a brilliant recognition that clears up any confusion regarding objective ethics and morality, and explains the justice of unfairness.

It offers an explanation to those who cry, "Why God? Oh why?"

“The divine ignorance or Tamas is full determination after very sharp intellectual analysis, which is just firmness in the right direction. Much gratitude for your clarifying attention.

Thank you for the gratitude.

The three basic constituents of the creation are non-inert awareness, inert energy and inert matter. Awareness is related to knowledge and God Brahma, who is the author of the Vedas. His power is Goddess Saraswati, who is related to the mind, which is the non-inert awareness. Word is the inert sound energy; it is a form of inert energy representing Goddess Parvati since Her husband God Shiva is represented by the Shiva Lingam, which is the wave form of the inert energy.

The meaning of word is again related to mind or awareness. Word as it is physically, is only sound energy. Goddess Lakshmi represents wealth, which is in the basic form of matter. There is a story of Sage Bhrugu cursing Brahma not to be worshipped because the non-inert awareness cannot be physically worshipped. The Sage said that God Shiva will be worshipped in the form of the Lingam alone, which is a wave representing the inert energy.

The Sage said that God Vishnu will be fully worshipped with His full form, which can be contained only by matter. In this way, the triad of instruments (trikaranams) represent the three divine forms of the Divine Mother. Goddess Parvati representing inert energy is also said to be the root form of energy or Adi Parashakti. In fact, the inert energy is the source for matter as well as awareness and this suits to the concept that Goddess Parvati is the root power.

There is only one ultimate absolute reality. It is the unimaginable God, who is called Parabrahman or Brahman. This ultimate God, being unimaginable, is neither masculine nor feminine nor neuter in gender. God is referred to as masculine, only as per convention. The concept of gender exists only in the imaginable creation. Brahman does not mean male and Śakti does not mean female.

Brahman refers to the possessor of the power and Śakti means the possessed power. Both the possessor of the power and the possessed power are unimaginable. Two unimaginable items cannot coexist since it is impossible to differentiate between them, when they are basically unimaginable.
So, even though we may refer to two unimaginable items for convenience, we are actually referring to just one unimaginable item. Thus, when you know that God is unimaginable, that God can equally be called either Brahman or Śakti. Thus, there is absolutely no fundamental difference between the Vedānta and Śākteya philosophies.

It is only in the imaginable creation that we can differentiate between the possessor of a power, such as the sun and its power, like the sunlight. God is the cause and creation is the effect. The created-world is called as Kārya Brahman or the product created by Brahman. The same world is also called Kārya Śakti or the product created by Śakti. The Creator can be called Kāraṇa Brahman or Kāraṇa Śakti.

When this Kāraṇa Brahman or Kāraṇa Śakti incarnates, the Incarnation is the mediated Kāraṇa Brahman or the mediated Kāraṇa Śakti. Even though power has no gender, some have a wrong impression imprinted on their minds that Brahman is male and Śakti is female. So, Śiva is taken to be Brahman and Pārvatī is taken to be Śakti.

There is also another misunderstanding that Śiva is the cause or Puruṣa, whereas Pārvatī is the effect, product or prakṛti. But if we take Pārvati as the cause, She appears as Ādi Parāśakti, Mahā Kālī or Durgā. All this is a magical circus of various misinterpreted words. Following such strongly misunderstood concepts, which have now become the convention, we can say that Śiva is God, whereas Pārvatī is His strongest devotee since she did a lot of penance for Śiva. Pārvatī can be a soul or creation (prakṛti) since the soul is said to be parā prakṛti.

Pārvatī can also be considered to be a dualistic incarnation of God, as the Goddess. A dualistic incarnation of God means a climax devotee whom God treats as His own master. God Himself becomes the servant of such devotee. This concept is seen in the story of Pārvatī becoming Mahā Kāli and dancing on Śiva. All this seems to be fun involving gender-related fights! If you see Pārvatī, she is a devotee of Śiva. When Pārvatī became the climax devotee of Śiva, she became the master and Śiva became the servant. When Śiva became the Human Incarnation, Ādi Śaṅkarācārya, it was a monistic Incarnation in which the devotee (Śaṅkara) only became equal to Śiva. But in a dualistic incarnation, Pārvati as Mahā Kāli (master) became even greater than Śiva (her servant).

Pārvatī doing penance for Śiva represents the devotee-soul, who becomes equal to Śiva as Ardhanārīśvarī. This represents a monistic Human Incarnation. The same Pārvatī remaining as a devotee, but with her devotion reaching the climax, became the dualistic incarnation, whereas Śiva became her servant, lying under her feet!

These concepts are correct and the climax-devotee is indeed greater than Incarnation of God! The devoted Hanumān defeated Rāma in a battle and the devoted Arjuna defeated Krishna in a battle! Krishna pressed the feet of Rādha! We must understand the concepts underlying these external funny stories.

People prefer to worship Śakti who is taken to be the climax devotee. They feel that she can recommend their case to God because they share some commonality with her. Both Śakti and the worshipping devotee are souls belonging to prakṛti or creation. So, they feel closer to her. This is indirect worship. It is like trying to influence an officer by buttering his wife up, who is his ‘home-minster’. The person seeks a favour from the officer claiming to have a blood-relation with the ‘home minister’!
