Who is doing most of the reproducing? Those who still treat women like brood sows and men's possessions.
Humanity is splitting, with two increasingly distinct reproductive strategies as observed in many animals - small broods with long lives vs large broods with short lives. Humans have increasingly tended towards the latter but not all. Each presents environmental problems, the developed world by pointlessly over-extending the lives of those who have had enough, and Islamic states through having too many children.
