kill them...salvage what you can, burn the rest
Oh yeah! That will definitely work and make things better.

After you are through killing and scavanging, the free will come back and give you a decent burial.

You have yet to learn the first rule of defense--*don't be there when it happens!

But if you do decide to attempt to fight the government, **you certainly won't win if you announce to the world that's what you intend to do.
henry quirk wrote: Mon May 03, 2021 12:12 am*It's naive to believe you're immune to agents of state smashin' your door in and shootin' you in the head just cuz you're a free man. The whole damn point of the State -- any State -- is to deprive you of liberty and property. And it doesn't seem the State much cares if you live or die as it's takin' that liberty or property (it will take your life). To some degree -- out of a sense of self-preservation, if nuthin' else -- you oughta push back before it's 3am and you're havin' a fire fight in your livin' room with six SWAT (them in riot gear with auto-shotguns, you in your boxers with your weapon of choice).
henry quirk wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 7:16 pm**That's the thing: in the course of his day-to-day, a free man doesn't dwell on what's evident, he doesn't spend time thinkin' about what is or what is true or real.

I don't.

But when a free man is confronted by those who'd take his freedom, he puts words to the intuition so that he can communicate his objections and voice his opposition.

In the same way, the back & forth on a philosophy forum, particularly one rife with socialist thinkin', necessitates talkin' about ownness, ***to communicate objections, to voice opposition.
***Here, I speak plainly; in my day-to-day, I keep my own counsel.

That's the dumbest thing I've seen on a long while.
If Trump had won the election Americans wouls still be dying at the reate of 3000 a day.

Anyone who doesn't even think about his day-to-day situation enough to avoid all possible threats to his life and freedom is not a free individual. He's a shmuck who thinks freedom is some kind of social condition and he is not required to make any effort to free himself until his freedom is actually threatened. When the boat begins to sink, it's too late to think about the life preservers.

Where's the downside to that?

If that's the case, I wish they had been in charge.

Yep, they didn't say that because it isn't true.

I know that Henry. It's not what or how you said it, but it's what it means whether you know it or not.

"... kill them...salvage what you can, burn the rest ..." is the gangster's, thug's, or warmonger's mindset for dealing with social/political issues. I know you're better than that.

It is very difficult to take seriously the health concerns of a country where the beginning of a river is used as a toilet and the people use the other end of the river to bath in and drink from--and wonder why they are always sick.

You don't suppose the fact that, for many in India, prostitution is the main source of income, there might be a disease problem, do you?

I stand by what I posted. If that, to your mind, makes me a warmonger, so be it.

Diversity Over Discovery
Biden’s war on merit puts America’s scientific edge at risk.

From the link:

- “Leaky Pipeline vs. Vicious Obstacle Course: metaphors for the persistent exclusion of minoritized scholars from STEM.”
- “A critical feminist approach to transforming workplace climate in the geosciences through community engagement and partnerships with societies.”
- “Hostile climates are barriers to diversifying the geosciences.”

Commentary:

Look at what has been done to science.
My my. Tisk tisk.
Chalk up another Biden Anti-Achievement. (BAA)
Is there nowhere those gnarley fingers won’t touch?

PC quotas for scientific discoveries is an interesting PC concept and Woke aspiration. Maybe the Biden administration can muscle the Nobel committee into making scientist-quotas the primary award criterion.

Good! I appreciate the integrity of a men who refuses to deny his own convictions.

It was not actually your view I was commenting on, but your rhetoric. I don't think it fits your convictions. Still I like Pilot's attitude, "what I have written, I have written."

They're burning bodies in parking lots, where automobiles are parked.

They're stacking up bodies faster than Cuomo (D) in NY.
