Cultural Relativism is wrong

Post by philosopher » Fri Apr 19, 2019 9:09 pm

Just watched a horrible movie about a nazi death camp. They, the prisoners - innocent people - were brutally gassed.
It is a real story. It really did happen - more than 6 million innocent people lost their lives in nazi death camps.

I knew it already, but after watching the movie, I felt a strong urge to say this:

Cultural Relativism is wrong. There are some opinions, some beliefs, some points of view - which are just plain wrong.
They are worth less than others. National Socialism is amongst the wrong opinions.

Cultural Relativism "teach" that all opinions are equally valid. That is wrong, as is self-evident in the case of National Socialism.

Once you accept that, you know there are certain moral truths which are - true!
I do not know what is right, but I do know what is wrong. I believe that if we can sort out all wrong opinions and beliefs, ultimately we will find the right opinions and the right things to believe in. Simply by reducing the number of options.

Another lesson we can draw from this, is that all people who hold negative values - because there exists not only wrong opinions, but harmful wrong opinions - negative values - should not be allowed to exist.

National Socialists are such people. They should not be allowed to exist.

EDIT: Really good counter-argument here:

Stop calling them "nazis" for a start, then you will stop LOOKING AT them in a particular way.

They are, after all, just human beings who LOOK AT things from a particular different perspective, just like you do.

Then, we could start encouraging them and supporting them to LOOK AT "others" from a Truly OPEN perspective in a Truly loving way, just like we NEED to do with you and your "kind". The Truth is 'we' NEED to do this with all of us, which is literally ourselves.

I wish all current modern day nazis - members of National Socialist parties refering to Hitler - as horrible a death as the 6 million lives their predecessors caused.

Erm, so for the simple crime of being the wrong sort of person, without relation to anything they have actually done, you would send an entire class of persons into the gas chambers.

You are an absolute, total, fucking moron.

Nazism is nazism. They still believe in the same wrong stuff their predecessors believed in. Therefore, to prevent them from regaining power and to even have a say in society, we need to exterminate the nazis.

Cool. Well you seem to be just embracing your own similarities to them, so you can now prove that you mean what you say by killing yourself.

Someone please explain to me:

If you're not a nazi, how could one possibly want to protect the nazi scum?

Nazis exterminated:

* Anyone who wasn't a nazi.
* Anyone who had a disability or illness that made the unfit for military service or labor.
* Social-democrats and liberals.
* Lots of other innocent people that the nazis didn't like.

Nazis occupied other sovereign nations and imposed a dictatorship in democratic countries.
They also started a world war killing millions of people.

Modern day nazis (neo-nazis) are no different from their predecessors.

Why should we allow them in society? How come anyone who is not a nazi would ever protect such scum?

Perhaps it's sort of like the difference between sentencing someone to death for killing someone versus sentencing someone to death for saying they are going to kill someone. You can issue restraining orders and things like that in the latter case, however, in most civilized societies people are NOT sentenced to death for simply saying they are going to do something that is punishable by death--unless they actually do it.

This is tiresome. Shall we skip ahead to the bit where you try to edit out all the murder parts from your post as you have on a weekly basis for the last 6 months or so? Perhaps you can do your pathetic apology dance again even though you have no intention of not doing the same stupid shit again.

There is no circumstance under which thought crimes are properly punishable. Murdering people for committing thought crimes is the behaviour of nazis.

No decent person could possibly need this shit explaining to them. You do though. And then you briefly pretend to understand, but the next week you are sure to write this stupid bloodthirsty bollocks all over again. So the thing that all decent people know without need for an explanation, requires us weekly to explain it to you yet a a-fucking-gain.

To be fair, though, it sounds like he saw a movie on the Nazis which caused him to become incensed at their atrocities. I think that's probably a very human reaction, to become extremely angry at the Nazis for what they did. I mean, you yourself were suggesting he go kill himself which is pretty extreme also.

Thought crimes can be punished in many societies, that doesn't make them nazis.

And murdering... nobody is talking about murder. Murder is defined as the illegal killing of another human being.
I'm talking about death penalty. That's not murder.

How would you like to exterminate these human beings, who seemingly just have different views than you have? Maybe build gas chambers for them, and gas them to death? After all a class or group of human beings with different views deserve to be exterminated, right?

Even if there is 6 million of them there needs to be another holocaust to wipe out those who view and seeing things differently then you do, correct?

Is this just history repeating itself?

The absolute absurdity of wanting to wipe out another group of human beings, for just having, incidentally, the EXACT SAME views you have, speaks for itself.

Your view is you want to exterminate a group of people for having the view of wanting to exterminate a group of people. Could this get any more stupid?

You even said: "They" still believe in the same wrong stuff their predecessors believed in. Are you at all aware that the same stuff "they" BELIEVE IN IS the exact same stuff "you" BELIEVE IN? Which is to exterminate a class/group/race of human beings who just have and hold different views than "you" or "they".

This is absurdity and stupidity at its finest.

He does this all the time.
Here's just two of the other threads where he has called for death to his enemies, then got told off ny me, and then edited the posts

Exercise your legitimate right to vote in an election - Mister "philosopher" has called for your death. Don't agree with a scientific claim .... same deal.

There's a limit to the terms under which his constant howls for other people's death to serve his own convenience can be excused. Retardation and madness I guess are still on the table. Got annoyed while watching TV isn't.

I'm sorry, in which of those 'morally superior' western countries with their freedom of expression, are thought crimes punishable?

The Holocaust was carried out with all the correct paperwork, most people think it was murderous because no law to say that stuff is allowed is all that valid. You don't agree?
