Neither Saunders nor Bill's husband are currently in line for the Big Chair, so...
Can there be such a thing as a "Liberal Dictatorship"?

".... the dictator won't be a liberal."
No, he or she will be a socialist democrat/democratic socialist (i.e. a commie).

From your keyboard to the electorate's higher cortical functions!
Re: Can there be such a thing as a "Liberal Dictatorship"?
A liberal dictatorship does not mean an individual who is a liberal.
It is Dictatorship by Ideology.
Here is how it’s done in a democracy, how it’s being done right now in the US.
The Practice of Ritual Defamation
How values, opinions and beliefs are
controlled in democratic societies.

The thing is, knowing how it is done doesn’t stop it from being done.

In this case it's what rules the mob, not who.
The Ideology rules the mob.
Currently, the Ideology is driving the opposition to Kavanaugh's nomination.
The mob is the multi-headed hydra expressing the bloated body of the Ideology.

Sure: memetic infection, I get it.
But: fightin' ideas is hard, infected brains have strong defenses (and while you're reasonin' with them, they're tryin' to eat your face).
Yeah, cuz we're 'civillized', we have to 'persuade', but there's a limit, an end-point, to any negotiation.
You can never take helicopter rides off the table.

True enough, and the helicopter showed me something. The pleasure isn’t where you are, the pleasure is that you are where you’re at, wherever that is.
Good practice for the final wherever.
This must be how folks in dictatorships are happy.

but if some liberal college professor says you sexually assaulted her 35 years ago, and every possible witness to the non specific event deny it occurred, you are guilty in the eyes of every democrat senator.Skip wrote: ↑Mon Sep 24, 2018 3:16 pmIf you use and sell cocaine, you don't break all laws.

If you marry a second and third wife, you don't break all laws.
If you show up on parade out of uniform, you don't break all laws.
If you boil a kid in its mother's milk, you don't break all laws.
Yet, each of those is an infraction of a rule that some organization has made and its members have agreed to abide by.
And yet making a law or rule against any single one of those acts, according to you, is dictatorship.
Unless you consider gum-chewing the one and only holy of holies against which making a rule is dictatorial.

"presumption of innocence?"
I'm kinda surprised a thread hasn't started on that mess.
Allow me...

Indeed, cuz what's 'democracy' but 'mob rule' in fine clothes?
And he who rules the mob...
protection of the minority from the majority.
I'm a liberal BTW.

I'm just glad that there will now be an FBI investigation of Kananaugh - as there should have been from day one.
then we can elect or reject him after the proper investigation was carried out.
i value the rule of law/facts over political circuses.

then.............we still have the BoR, and a "War" with those that do not value our Constitution and the Rule of Law.henry quirk wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 2:23 am "i support the Bill of Rights"
So do I.
But if the 'mob' doesn't, what then?
i only hope most of us will be on our side in this war.
thanks for reply.
