Denmark has a tremendous social safety net for unemployed workers — any worker who worked at least 52 weeks over a three-year period can qualify to have 90 percent of their original salary paid for, for up to two years. The Danish government also has plentiful training programs for out-of-work Danes. As a result, 73 percent of Danes between 15 and 64 have a paying job, compared to 67 percent of Americans.

No, YOU get a clue about how big of an idiot you are. And then we'll all be better off.

Get a clue, people. The Left is as shallow and devoid of depth as you are: nothing to find there but your own motives. That's the Left actual, true essence: its motives. You can come up with as many definitions as you want for these lower castes political and philosophical doctrines, but that which they will always have in common is their motives: that's their substance; their essence.

And what's the essence of the Left, then? Impotence; hate. The lower instincts taking over; the lower castes taking over. Anarchy, chaos; a will to die, to kill: to kill life, yourselves. Cruelty, corrosive feelings; envy, jelousy. That's the Left's driving force --its energy source, so to speak. Etc, etc.

Yes, that's you lefties: that's your "depth". That's your "contribution" to society...

On the other hand, here are some words or ideas you should never associate, nor identify yourselves with:

Pride, honesty, responsibility, being consequent; strength, power, love for struggle and competition, beauty, privilege, rank, virility, generosity, truth, truthfulness, being a winner, overcoming yourself, heroes; eagles, hawks, lions, etc, etc.
These are not you. And you know it pretty well. But you are also highly covetous people (you crave for power). And so, you hate the powerful, and anyone independent who, by its own nature, will not submit to you: the independent-minded, those who think for themselves and those who cannot care less about you or your miseries and misfortunes; people that doesn't need you nor any of your utopian fairy tales (Marx's, etc.). You get the point.

Yes. Get to know yourselves first, Lefties.
And know your place...
I wonder where xy thinks he ranks on this hierarchy of rightness given his poor grammar? Close to the bottom I reckon.

I wonder if that's why he sounds so bitter about something?

Hey, Lefties. Here I'll show you some words --ideas-- that you can associate to socialism, communism, and the left in general:

Wishful thinking, self-deception, denial, opium, sedatives, dishonesty, lies, weakness, decadence, moral decadence, lower instincts, revolt, riots, anarchy, revolution, revolution of the lower instincts, insolence, hate, envy, jelousy, etc, etc; worms, rats, vultures, scavengers, etc, etc.
I mean, most of you are masters of self-deception (I wont ask you to admit it: you can't). So, it is no wonder that you hate everything that has to do with accepting facts, responsibility, being consequent (anything relating to reality, not merely to your egocentric feelings); stuff like Darwin's evolution and associated ideas (--'big fish eats little fish', "the bigger, the best, the better than the rest"), rank, respect, virility, strength, etc, etc, all of these ideas and feelings you hate up to your innermost core (--oh yes--). That's why you invent and promote concepts and ideas such as "equality" [sarcasm intended], "equal rights" [sarcasm intended], or political doctrines such as communism, socialism, etc, etc, that enshrine, idolize and worship weakness and the weak in general. This is all just too characteristic of you all.

Look, there's a reason I don't post on the IMDb Politics board. I was hoping that people here might post about philosophy, because they like philosophy a lot, they read a lot of philosophy, they like to talk to other people about philosophy and learn about all sorts of different views, etc.

It's a shame that the other forum of a similar name has more bugs than a terrarium.
The moderation was not too severe, but enough to keep out attentions seeking fools.

The forum that the bulk of regulars from the other forum seemed to have gone to is http://thephilosophyforum.com/ I've been posting there, too, a bit, although like the other forum at times, it sometimes comes across as heavily cliquey with an air of arrogance/self-assessed superiority/condescension if you don't easily fit into the dominant clique(s). I wish there were a happy medium between this place and that.

Apparently some of the regulars know a fair amount about who owned the other forum, and apparently the other forum was sold not too long ago--from what I could gather, it was maybe even sold right before the big crash, although I'm not sure about that. At any rate, it seems to have been sold within the last year. There was at least one long thread about it. The thread doesn't start out being about that topic specifically, but it quickly gets into it if you keep reading: http://thephilosophyforum.com/discussio ... ving-pf/p1

I made some reasonable but challenging comments, got insulted, insulted back only to find that the person I was talking to was the site owner.
So that was the end of that.

Ah, that sucks. Yeah, site owners/moderators are often asshats with superiority complexes and control freak issues who are prone to extremely cliquey behavior. Which makes it better when they don't choose to participate in their own forums.

Well, it is well known that philosophy is not for the faint-hearted. You gotta deal with the truth --no more, no less--, and that's something not many people enjoys or is willing to do. It is not uncommon to read shocking things from philosophers, and it is not uncommon to learn that many of them have been persecuted for their ideas and points of views.

On the other hand, philosophers might tackle any subject or issue you can think of, because that's what philosophers do: they think about stuff. Anyone who allows himself the time to think about stuff is, in a way, a philosopher. If you love to think, and to talk about what you think, and you do both these things frequently, then you are a philosopher.

Now, when the subject being discussed is an explosive one, as politics usually is, then you can certainly expect some punches to fly in your direction. But if you really love what you do, you learn to love struggle, and the antagonism from those opposing you turns into an opportunity: the opportunity of being better.

Are you trying to perform a rational dismount from the pile of stupid shit your originally wrote?
Or is your gambit to make make a dramatic antagonistic entry, and then shout "I have initiated epic debate!"

Not sure of what you are attempting to relate.

Just thought I would work within the confines of this thread.

Matter-of-fact - think I may have hit it out of the park!
