At first I thought this might merely be an abdicated Nick Clegg, reminiscing during an interview, about his caped-crusader days of pulling Frank Harris out of the utility belt to combat class-snobbery.

But this instead seems to be the hyperbolic posturing of practical nationalism. Apparently hoping to shame some disappointing segment of the population with a transatlantic, academic upgrading of this particular kind of John Wayne bellow: "Hell, you bleating ruminants at least try to drum-up enough lingering self respect for yourselves to want a better deal. Rather than placidly being unspecial gravel material for the Euro-Bloc branch of tediously incremental global integration to road-roller over."

The British use the English language to rule the world so they have an angle to try and justify any perceived snobbery.
