Its not a misnomer bob and its called slavery. That you think it doesn't exist in this day and age is your issue.
Of course, I understand that you can't always get want you want.
Given your beliefs I'm sure you do.

Sex trafficking does not mean enslavement of anybody. Why you persist in this ridiculous notion is a mystery to me.

Not in your fantasy world it doesn't but in the real one thats exactly what it means, although like I say, its a euphemism for slavery.

Let me ask you two direct questions. If I hire a number of women, and sell their sexual services to customers, am I involved in sex trafficking, yes or no? If your answer is yes, am I guilty of enslavement, yes or no?

No, you're involved in sex-procurement.

To be involved in sex-trafficking you'd have to be tricking and then forcing them into the situation.

Slavery is a system under which people are treated as property to be bought and sold, and are forced to work. Slaves can be held against their will from the time of their capture, purchase or birth, and deprived of the right to leave, to refuse to work, or to demand compensation. Historically, slavery was institutionally recognized by many societies; in more recent times slavery has been outlawed in most societies but continues through the practices of debt bondage, indentured servitude, serfdom, domestic servants kept in captivity, certain adoptions in which children are forced to work as slaves, child soldiers, and forced marriage. There are more slaves in the early 21st century than at any previous time but opponents hope slavery can be eradicated within 30 years.

Slavery predates written records and has existed in many cultures. The number of slaves today remains as high as 12 million to 27 million. Most are debt slaves, largely in South Asia, who are under debt bondage incurred by lenders, sometimes even for generations. Human trafficking is primarily used for forcing women and children into sex industries.

In pre-industrial societies, slaves and their labour were economically extremely important. Slaves and serfs made up around three-quarters of the world's population at the beginning of the 19th century.

Let me cite the U.S. Code: Pursuant to 22 USCS § 7102 (9) [Title 22. Foreign Relations and Intercourse; Chapter 78. Trafficking Victims Protection], the term sex trafficking means “the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act.”

It's not what I believe, it's what the U.S. government defines as sex trafficking. Please provide legal documentation of how England or any other oppressive country defines sex trafficking if it differs from the U.S. Code. I don't know what the gobbledygook is that you refer to above, but it is certainly not the U.S. Code.

Lets look at what this US code says its purpose is shall we bob.

Any emphasis is mine.

"-STATUTE-
(a) Purposes
The purposes of this chapter are to combat trafficking in
persons, a contemporary manifestation of slavery whose victims are
predominantly women and children, to ensure just and effective
punishment of traffickers, and to protect their victims.
(b) Findings
Congress finds that:
(1) As the 21st century begins, the degrading institution of
slavery continues throughout the world. Trafficking in persons is
a modern form of slavery, and it is the largest manifestation of
slavery today.
At least 700,000 persons annually, primarily women
and children, are trafficked within or across international
borders. Approximately 50,000 women and children are trafficked
into the United States each year.

(2) Many of these persons are trafficked into the international
sex trade, often by force, fraud, or coercion.
The sex industry
has rapidly expanded over the past several decades. It involves
sexual exploitation of persons, predominantly women and girls,
involving activities related to prostitution, pornography, sex
tourism, and other commercial sexual services. The low status of
women in many parts of the world has contributed to a burgeoning
of the trafficking industry.
(3) Trafficking in persons is not limited to the sex industry.
This growing transnational crime also includes forced labor and
involves significant violations of labor, public health, and
human rights standards worldwide.
(4) Traffickers primarily target women and girls, who are
disproportionately affected by poverty, the lack of access to
education, chronic unemployment, discrimination, and the lack of
economic opportunities in countries of origin. Traffickers lure
women and girls into their networks through false promises of
decent working conditions at relatively good pay as nannies,
maids, dancers, factory workers, restaurant workers, sales
clerks, or models. Traffickers also buy children from poor
families and sell them into prostitution or into various types of
forced or bonded labor.

(5) Traffickers often transport victims from their home
communities to unfamiliar destinations, including foreign
countries away from family and friends, religious institutions,
and other sources of protection and support, leaving the victims
defenseless and vulnerable.
(6) Victims are often forced through physical violence to
engage in sex acts or perform slavery-like labor. Such force
includes rape and other forms of sexual abuse, torture,
starvation, imprisonment, threats, psychological abuse, and
coercion.

(7) Traffickers often make representations to their victims
that physical harm may occur to them or others should the victim
escape or attempt to escape. Such representations can have the
same coercive effects on victims as direct threats to inflict
such harm.
(8) Trafficking in persons is increasingly perpetrated by
organized, sophisticated criminal enterprises. Such trafficking
is the fastest growing source of profits for organized criminal
enterprises worldwide. Profits from the trafficking industry
contribute to the expansion of organized crime in the United
States and worldwide. Trafficking in persons is often aided by
official corruption in countries of origin, transit, and
destination, thereby threatening the rule of law.
(9) Trafficking includes all the elements of the crime of
forcible rape when it involves the involuntary participation of
another person in sex acts by means of fraud, force, or coercion.

(10) Trafficking also involves violations of other laws,
including labor and immigration codes and laws against
kidnapping, slavery, false imprisonment, assault, battery,
pandering, fraud, and extortion.
(11) Trafficking exposes victims to serious health risks. Women
and children trafficked in the sex industry are exposed to deadly
diseases, including HIV and AIDS. Trafficking victims are
sometimes worked or physically brutalized to death. ..." etc, etc.

The UK view.

From The Serious Organised Crime Agency(SOCA)

"The Legal Definition:

The definition of human trafficking commonly accepted by governments, law enforcement bodies and agencies including the UKHTC derives from the UN Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children, supplementing the UN Convention Against Transnational Organisational Crime. This is also commonly referred to as ‘the Palermo Protocol’.

According to the Article 3, “Trafficking in Persons” means:

‘The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power, or a position of vulnerability, or the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labour or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal or organs’.

Children cannot give consent to being moved, therefore the coercion or deception elements do not have to be present.

Source, transit and destination countries throughout Europe translate and interpret the Palermo Protocol in different ways so the definition of what constitutes human trafficking can differ between nations.

A Working Definition:

In the simplest terms, human trafficking is the movement of a person from one place to another into conditions of exploitation, using deception, coercion, the abuse of power or the abuse of someone’s vulnerability. It is entirely possible to have been a victim of trafficking even if your consent has been given to being moved. ..."
