Palestinian struggle for UN recognition

Post by Khalid »

Palestine needs 129 votes to be recognized by the UN , once it succeeds in getting that number it will be recognized as a non-member state and this will be very important step for the Palestinians because they will recognized as a country under occupation on 1967's borders which include Jerusalem . Then negotiations will be between two strong sides .
Palestine failed in getting recognition in last attempt in New York when it demanded to be recognized as a member state so this was probably a reason or an excuse for rejection by several European countries but it doesn't really matter having member or non-member recognition but what matters is having the recognition anyway so Palestinian authority applied it's paper to UN for second time expecting good news this time and uncaring for all terrible Israeli and American pressures . Some European countries like France and Italy started to show some allusions recently to support Palestinian efforts in the UN .

UN recognition will not make Israel roll over and give up land...

Gaza will glow in the dark before that happens and Europe knows it -

"we" voted and your home is now ours doesn't work... you have to empty the land before you occupy it

Then Israel refuses peace again in front of the world . Returning to 1967's borders that were declared by UN will make Israel give up few lands , no big change from the current map .
