Now this is a contradiction.bobmax wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 8:11 amNot very small, but nothing.
It is difficult to accept that something comes out of nowhere.
But the contradiction is only apparent.
Doesn't the electromagnetic field tell us that the universe is but a point?
Something arises out of nothing because it is itself nothing.

By my mean the best understanding of elementary particle is a structural defect of crystal of physical space. As eg scew dislocation. It contains concept of the “spin” in its growth even. See please eg https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Ill ... _311969535 On this picture we can see the past/history of this growth. Te presence of partice is only a point defect on the growing surfase of the Past. Not expanding space but growing/crystalizing physical space…uwot wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 1:51 pmWell, now you're asking. I happen to think that Lawrence Krauss is on the money (See above). I also think that since elementary particles are probably made of the same stuff as the expanding universe, then in a sense they are expanding. Having said that, what we identify as elementary particles are points or patterns in an expanding field, and in that sense do not expand. Have a look at the video, you'll see what I mean.

Is it plausible that each galaxy had its own big bang?
