Global Stewardship Think Tank

How does science work? And what's all this about quantum mechanics?

Global Stewardship Think Tank

Post by MagnetMan »

Our non-Profit Global Stewardship Foundation was established 20 years ago
We are basically a think tank that concentrates on large-scale planet management concepts
The four main areas of our focus are:
Education
Agriculture
Energy
Housing

I would like to outline some of the ideas and models we have come up with over the years.
Please feel free to join in with any questions or ideas of your own
The future is very much in need of mass change
We all owe an obligation to it.

If you have a planet management idea of your own
It would be nice if you put it forward
As a basic guide
It should be doable with available technologies
ecologically sound
and have planet wide application
I will start with some ideas we have on energy models.

Ocean tide and wave energies
Harvesting atmospheric thermal differentials
Wind

Tidal Venturies

We estimate that the tidal flow in the Gulf of California generates 5 billion HP every 24 hours
Highest tides are 30 feet, the average is 15 feet
the current is 6 knots either way
Channeling the flow through a narrow ventury can increase the current to 20 knots
driving marine turbines in each direction.
Our design envisions a large concrete floating barrage spanning the center of the gulf
with venturies spaced along its length
the projected harvest of electrical energy is 5% to 10% of the full gravitational potential.

The ecological impact from a floating system is minimal
The raw concrete material is available in the immediately vicinity
The project could employ a quarter of a million workers for thirty years
with the first station coming on line within ten years.

I will be happy to explain the above in greater detail and answer questions.

One of the arguments against off shore drilling is the fact that the sight of the oil drilling platforms isn't very nice to look at. Can these devices (which I think can be a real possibility) be placed in such a way that they are a bit more aesthetically pleasing?

Perhaps disguising them as tropical islands
palm trees and and all?
Surrounded by large floating barges filled with sand should do it
Might even be a sanctuary for sea life. :D

Possible New Energy Source
Burning Salt Water with radio waves
looks promising

Also, cold fusion seems to be back on the table
any new info on that will be helpful

I have a question...

Will you supply to me a shorthand version of how you believe children should be educated in order to produce the most powerful, capable, and constructive civil servants of all time? How will you force young, unruly males to behave when their time comes to be initiated (through Nihilism) into adulthood/manhood? Furthermore, how should females/women become socially-engineered as to progress such a society you are referring to?

The reason why parents are not confronted with educating a chimpanzee with every new born
is because a set series of behavioral ethics have been imprinted in our DNA
during the past 100,generations of our species' conscious evolution

The sharing ethic of the Stone Age hunter
The chore-based work ethic and courage of the Bronze Age farmer/warrior
The religious conscientiousness of the Iron Age industrial craftsman
The intellectual self-determination of the Steel Age scientist.

Our evolution has ensured that all of these essential character traits are latent in the child psyche

None of them can be evoked inside a crowded classroom learning the three R's

Only loving and caring parents
working within the confines of a secure home environment can do the job
It takes a full fourteen years to evoke BOTH sides of the psyche
the analytical side of the brain as well as the intuitive side
this ensures a balance of material and spiritual perspectives
this encouragement is best done via oral-based instruction
in which the sincerity of tone and demeanor of the parent is essential
NOT WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS

Once personal integrity is seated at puberty
excellence in academics follows naturally

The real GNP of any nation
is to produce succeeding generations of self-policed creative young citizens
So it is it up to the State to supply every support possible
to the family group
and allow them to do the real work of the nation.
