The red shift of galaxies is not a mathematical concept but physical evidence they are moving away from our
own galaxy. This phenomenon has been observed ever since Hubble first discovered it in 1929. Dark energy is
the physical evidence they are moving away from each other. So there is nothing theoretical about this at all

SOME of them are. Some of them are moving towards our galaxy and will eventually merge with it.
