I am my highest authority, judge and guide. Who is yours?

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

I am my highest authority, judge and guide. Who is yours?

As a Gnostic Christian, I follow the esoteric teachings of Jesus.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

This fits perfectly with the bibles teachings that we are to judge all things and hold to the good.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.

This is a compulsion to be our own masters instead of just kowtowing to someone else’s opinions.

This is also why Christians used their inquisitions on us. Freedom of thought was not allowed by Christianity.

A concept and freedom that Christians now seem to promote.

Many Christians follow the teachings of, to us, a genocidal and infanticidal demiurge, Yahweh.

How Christians can see him as a good god is beyond me and Christians shy away from any apologetics as to why they think such a satanic god is good.

I see my judgements as more moral than that immoral demiurge and that is why I have rejected him for Jesus.

Do you follow 1 Thessalonians 5:21, or do you let someone else do your judging for you?

Are you a higher authority than God?

God is the highest authority, judge and guide.
I am my highest authority, judge and guide.

Therefore I am God.

If you are asking me if I am a higher authority than you, I would say yes, and debate you on whatever issues is at hand till I either prove myselof, or accept correction, take it in, and continue in an even better state of superior authority than before.

I would also thank you for elevating me to a position above you again, till our next debate.

That is what I have done with all input and that is why I am my own authority.

If you stand behind your last, then you are likely a Gnostic Christian or in some other enlightened system that put's man above god, where we belong, given that we have created all of the gods.

Good for you if that is the case. It is the best ideology on the planet.

I am not asking you that.

Obviously from your perspective you are your own highest authority.
And obviously from my perspective I am my own highest authority.

What I am asking: form your perspective, are you a higher authority than the Christian God?
I ask this because the the common understanding of Christianity man is not God - they are different entities.

From my perspective: The highest authority is God. I am the highest authority, therefore I am God.

Omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience are my aspirations.

Par for the course. As an engineer I am all about Control engineering.

Pretty much. We created the idea/archetype of God. I have come to embody it.

I don't call myself Christian, but I identify that my patterns of thought correspond to the Christian way of thinking.

I believe in God, because I am God and I believe in myself.

That is true. They are wrong.

Are we not made in god's image?

He has no attributes that are not found in man, except the supernatural and fictional garbage that Christian men has invented.

Omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience are my aspirations.
As I said, I like and as a Gnostic Christian, I think the same way.

Perfect.

I sold to those like you for some years. If it moves, I can build it.

Who is yours?

The only person competent to govern me, is me.

God is my highest authority. If I am subject to a human judge concerning the laws made by other men (which I am obliged to obey), then how more so am I subject to the Creator of all?

So you consider yourself a god? This sounds more Mormon than Gnostic, so perhaps you could elaborate.

And that's the crux of it. The builder/maker/inventor/creator mindset is at the core of the "creationism" idea.

Which is why I label myself as a "constructivist". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Construct ... istemology

As a side-note Elon Musk thinks in a similar fashion (by proxy of his girlfriend).

At around 50 seconds of this video "God's creation so misunderstood".

I think I can agree with your view.

The religions create an ultimate pacifier for the most insecure animal on the planet. Humans.

Mu father can beat up your father, children say. Stupid fathers will then fight, while the intelligent fathers will laugh the antics of children off.

The ancients did not recognize evolution and the age of the universe.

Thank god for Socrates, Buddha and others who put logos ahead of mythos.

Christians would likely still be burning witches if logos had stayed hidden.

The definition of deist includes --- asserts that reason and observation of the natural world are sufficient to establish the existence of a Supreme Being or creator of the universe.

I take the label of naturalist and see no conflict in what I see god, defined as first cause, and nature, are doing.

IOW, I have no problem with evil.

Do you posit a supreme intelligence causing our first cause, which is the Big Bang?

Is there a god watching us?

As long as it is not Yahweh.

I do not like a creator that has to scrap the vast majority of his souls to the garbage, hell that is.

That would make him a p poor creator. Incompetent, in fact.
