Read my comments above to Henry re: Mengele, and you'll get it.
You stated:- Would knowledge of how to torture children be "good'?

So what knowledge do you think there is in torturing children Immanuel?

In WHAT way is torturing children KNOWLEDGE?

Post by henry quirk »

Indisputably Mengle tortured kids. His torture methods extended out from his medical training (his understanding/knowledge of human anatomy). Arguably, as he tortured kids, he found out new things or interesting things about human anatomy and psychology.

So: Mengle, torturing kids, was an expression of knowledge and an adding to knowledge.

He was a monster, what he did was wrong, but let's not pretend knowledge wasn't a function of his evil.

I figured you did. But I thought I'd go over it, because the conversation's gone at least four ways at this point.
I like when things get all gordian knotted: means sumthin' interestin' is goin' on. Folks get all passionate, gird their loins, get to swingin' swords.

Amidst all the harumphs and curses thinkin' is goin' on.

I can't help you out there, if you won't read what I said, or what Henry said, atto.

Let's not circle the drain here.

Henry came along long after we had this debate.

YOU state there is KNOWLEDGE in torturing children. I am simply not sure what that knowledge IS. Naive I may be, but do tell.

IC - you are quite simply one of the most pathetic, diversionary, coward debaters on this forum - which means you really have no faith in what you actually know.

Good bye.

I guess I should be too, but I find livin' in the world doesn't require a comprehensive understanding of the undergirding of the world, so I'm not.
Well yeah, I can tie my shoelaces without a deep appreciation of the finer points of quantum mechanics, but that's not really the point i was making.
henry quirk wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 7:52 pmIf, for example, we discover the whole of everything we call Reality is just a dollop of cream cheese smeared on God's bagel, I'll be awfully surprised, will experience five minutes of existential terror, then just get on with it (living).
As Michael Faraday said: “Nothing is too wonderful to be true if it be consistent with the laws of nature.”
