Religion Is .....

Post by Dontaskme » Wed Jan 30, 2019 12:26 pm

A set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe.

Beliefs are thoughts.

Thoughts are expressions being perceived.

Perceptions are being expressed by nothing, for nothing, for there is no visible perceiver but the invisible thought.

Beliefs are thoughts.
Belief is the fundamental thought.

The reality, what we experience, is structured.

Religion is like a review of half a movie, written by someone many years ago. In that review they make their own conclusions how the movie ends.

Science is a rejection of that review, by someone who watched the whole movie.

No Religion is a set of beliefs concerning the meaning of life.

remove that assumption of "way are we alive?" and assume there is no "Why" and you remove religion.

no, science is not a rejection of that review - it is disinterested in it.

science is only concerned with empiricism.

Religion is a conceptual dream story arising nowhere, now here, infinity itself, known in it's inconceivable conception as and through it's own self aware agent, a tiny facet of it's own infinite intelligence... and the dream is all there IS

Whatever the dream weaver makes up.

You are the invisible dreamweaver dreaming yourself alive.

Religion is a recognition of the spiritual sense within. To reach beyond the self only, and see the selfless motives. That love is an actual force. Religion is the pursuit of virtue and seeing virtue as reality.

Religion is also to attain to a higher power and find it within ones self.

Religion is a desire. That is religion at its best.

At its worst it spreads myth as fact. Seeks conformity. And becomes blind to reality.

All foundational epistemic theories are religions as undermined by the Munchhausen trillema.

Foundationalism is by definition dogmatic.

The sense of 'self' is an illusion.

Existence and Nothingness are the same thing, they arise out of each other.

Existence and Nothingness is the empirical SELF right there in it's own self evident direct experience, that is not assessable to the rational scientific mind, it's only assessable to the irrational mind.

The truth of reality is totally irrational to the rational mind.

The origins of all major religions is actually grounded in a truth that the rational, scientific mind hates to admit. That All religious belief is dogmatic and grounded in groundlessness. Drop the belief and what remains is the pure clarity of BEING aka God aka LOVE...undifferentiated.... dreaming difference where there is none.

Hello DAM.

Do you agree with Sri Ramana Maharshi’s concept of Self?

Quote:

The Self: This the term that he used the most frequently. He defined it by saying that the real Self or real ‘I’ is, contrary to perceptible experience, not an experience of individuality but a non-personal, all-inclusive awareness. It is not to be confused with the individual self which he said was essentially non-existent, being a fabrication of the mind which obscures the true experience of the real Self. He maintained that the real Self is always present and always experienced but he emphasized that one is only consciously aware of it as it really is when the self-limiting tendencies of the mind have ceased. Permanent and continuous Self-awareness is known as Self-Realisation.”

According to Wikipedia Religion may be defined as a cultural system of designated behaviors and practices, morals, worldviews, texts, sanctified places, prophecies, ethics, or organizations, that relates humanity to supernatural, transcendental, or spiritual elements.

I do not agree with this.

Moses, not that he existed, came down from the mountain with a set of commandments that were concerned with right morals and ethics and not anything that concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe.

Further.
Religion Is ....., if we are talking the supernatural based religions like Christianity and Islam, is basically a con job by lying clergy.

I offer these as support.

It is good to remember the "may" in your description.

Most of the attributes noted apply more to the supernatural revealed religions. They do not apply to the knowledge and wisdom seeking religions who intelligently put man above the Gods, given that we invented them all.
