Is there a reason your statement uses the word "you" rather than "us"?attofishpi wrote:....none of you KNOW God.

It's along those same lines, basically knowing and discovering seem to go together, though I understand that there are times when knowing and discovering can be separate issues. I was thinking of them as similar if not the same.marjoram_blues wrote:Is discovering God the same as knowing God?thedoc wrote:Before you discovered God you chopped wood and washed your dishes. The impression that I get is that Atto. thinks he knows God and the rest of us don't.Lacewing wrote:Is there a reason your statement uses the word "you" rather than "us"?attofishpi wrote:....none of you KNOW God.

I know that God exists, beyond that I don't claim to know anything, but I have faith that God is benevolent and empathetic.attofishpi wrote: What are the attributes of God that you KNOW Doc?

Re: How did knowing God change you?
Empathy is attributable to a man, today as i have some other times in the past have told 'it' is NO man for what 'it' has put me through. So you know IT exists yet cannot define more than two attributes...two that i have seen little of.thedoc wrote:I know that God exists, beyond that I don't claim to know anything, but I have faith that God is benevolent and empathetic.attofishpi wrote: What are the attributes of God that you KNOW Doc?

Re: How did knowing God change you?
So let's see... how many does that make on this site now who believe that they, alone, have access to divine knowing? What is this, some sort of epidemic of insanity? Is there some kind of worm eating people's brains? How can so many claim the same thing uniquely... and not notice for themselves how idiotic and illogical it is? Seriously, mass insanity.thedoc wrote:The impression that I get is that Atto. thinks he knows God and the rest of us don't.

If there was a worm eating your brain...lets face it...it would remain famished.][quote=

The questions are indeed similar:thedoc wrote:It's along those same lines, basically knowing and discovering seem to go together, though I understand that there are times when knowing and discovering can be separate issues. Is discovering God the same as knowing God?
1. How did knowing God change you?
2. What changed in real life after you found God?
However, I think that 1. is personal and subjective more than objective; 2. is an objective look at specific changes in 'real life'.
My thoughts are that it is one's perspective of life that changes, and that might effect positive changes in life circumstances, or not
Chopping wood might now be looked on as a joy, rather than a duty, or v.v..

Your god must be very proud of you and all you think and do.attofishpi wrote:It there was a worm eating your brain...lets face it...it would remain famished.

Re: How did knowing God change you?
Perhaps a more interesting question for believers would be:
How would a loss of faith change you, or your life?
How would a loss of faith change you, or your life?
