I'm sorry, Greatest, I meant the books.

Elaine Pagels started me reading about Gnostic Christianity and I followed my bliss after that.Jaded Sage wrote:I'm sorry, Greatest, I meant the books.

The Gnostic Library is all most really need as mine being a thinking persons religion, that thinking is best stimulated by discussion and debate. In my case, mostly on issues of morality.

I know her. I recommend reading the original. It is very short, but very powerful.

I don't know what or where heaven is but when I look around me, I see that the need to attain heaven is what makes everything else hell.

Why would you want or even need to attain something that you cannot describe?sthitapragya wrote:I don't know what or where heaven is but when I look around me, I see that the need to attain heaven is what makes everything else hell.
For all we can know of a supernatural heaven, it might be hell since Satan is supposed to be able to deceive the whole world.
From that biblical POV, you should seek hell as it would be the true heaven.
Shangri-La writers would agree as they would see the tyranny of Yahweh's heaven as too boring to want.
Perhaps that is why Allah spiced it up with a bunch of virgins for men to use.
