What would it take to convince you that somebody is a prophet?

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

Does he have to turn water into wine, or what, exactly?

There name would have to be something other than Bob Evenson, as he has already queered his pitch.

Okay, so first: Why is it a "he"? 8)

Second: Why would there only be a select few? Are we not all connected to the same... and therefore, all capable of offering prophetic insights?

What would it take for me to think that someone were being prophetic? There is nothing in particular -- rather it would be based on whether it simply rings as genuine and insightful. I'm not inclined to believe in isolated prophets who can do fantastic feats. (If they did, I'd be suspicious. All types of energy can manifest feats.) Rather, I think there are fantastic feats going on all the time between people in everyday situations -- and that we're all working equally to create this. I think we might lose some clarity when we assign specific roles and stories to it. Instead, we should stand back and be amazed! :D

They would have to deny they were one, at everyones insistence that they were.

Why do you bring me into it, I'm just asking a question, for which you don't have an answer, right?

Why do you bring me into it, I'm just asking a general question, but you apparently don't have an answer to it, right?
Bob, give us a break, only the newest of newbies to this site would believe for a second that this topic of yours is not about you. I've heard years of your self professing, self stroking, so called, prophethood.

I'm just using standard English instead of the convoluted "he or she."

Why do they have to confirm or deny it? The question is, what would it take to convince you that somebody is a prophet?

All the "she's" don't think that's convoluted. 8) You can use "one".

I'm curious: Do you think there are only a select few prophetic people? What about all the false or wanna-be or mistaken prophets who don't understand the influence of their own mind and ego better than anyone else does?

This could be an interesting topic if we really dig into it.

I already answered the question above. Can't keep track of your own thread? Not very prophetic is it?

a) Any English teacher will back me up on the use of "he" being the proper term, and b) the question is what it would take to convince you that somebody is a prophet.

No, you didn't answer the question. And, by the way, you apparently don't understand the meaning of the word "prophet" in this context. It means any divinely inspired utterance.

Yes I did:

Oh, I see -- we're not asking any other related questions. And I've already answered the topic question. So, it sounds like there's a specific, limited agenda since we're not considering or exploring beyond that.
