This a serious questions to true believers.

We all have seen them.

They are all over.

In government, in military, in business, in the citizenry at large and even on forums.

Was this part of his "intelligent design"?

If you can explain this to me, in a way that makes sense, I might be tempted to believe myself!

Because how else would some of us look smart?

How can you explain the apparent contradiction of asking God to get out of your life, and now you are asking why God doesn't fix everything by interfering with your life?

To make it absolutely clear where I stand, doc: I don't believe for a second that your christian god is anything else than childish fantasy and delusion (and a good mind-control mechanism).

However, the point I am trying to make, over and over, is how I despise the concept of the god you guys believe in.

You believe in a god that is supposed to have created a world with unmeasurable pain, fear and suffering, both for humans and for animals, caused by the basic 'design' flaw of predation.

And then the copout, masochistic, self-flagellating explanation you come up with is that it is all our own fault.

As my wife says: "everything that is good in the world, is god's credit -- everything that is rotten is our fault."

Very convenient for god, I am sure.

As I said earlier: if god existed, I would really hate the bastard.

So, I do not need to argue about god's existence, it is enough to say that if god did exist, he should be ashamed of himself, walk around with a paper bag over his head and pretend that it wasn't him who created this mess, but three other gods form some other religion.

So, as you see, doc -- there is no contradiction: my stand is entirely logical and consistent.

Why is everyone in such a hurry, you post something and a few hours later are whining that I haven't answered you. I do have a life other than sitting in front of the computer, and other things to occupy my time. Have a drink and relax a bit, if I don't get back to you in a couple days, then maybe you can consider that I'm not going to answer.
