My theory of personality types

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

So what are your feelings on the Myers Briggs typology?
In a pyschology class we were all asked to take the questionnaire. The lecturer said that if you had already had one no need to take again, unless, it was more than seven years since. I took it again and what had changed was initially, I was INFJ and it changed to INTJ. Had a lot going on in my life at that time and had to use my brain quite a lot  It has since changed back to INFJ. Over the course of time the basic INFJ has always been my profile and quite frankly I relate to that. I also found that careers suitable for this type were subjects I gravitate to.

Perhaps I am biased as I loved Carl Jung's attitude to humans.

I've created a questionnaire for my concept. And I've assigned careers to each of the three types. I hope it finds use in the same way as the Myers Briggs.

Why did you find the need to do this, when as you say, there is the Myers Briggs already in existence? Have you tested it on others?

"There's a lot of stuff out there like this. In some ways the approach might be a better method of categorizing than MBTI type codes but this is so adjectival I think it would be hard to standardize or apply across cultures.

Well I think recognizing the archetypes and their influences on a person is a good start. John Beebe does this by wrapping the functions in archetypes. It also doesn't create the, often misleading judging/perceiving dichotomy that often gets so overinflated when people talk about type."

"I like your focus on disorders and coping mechanisms-it helps us recognize our flaws and get past them."

To answer your second question yes I have tested this on someone. He completed the questionnaire. My questionnaire has been modified since then but he was the type I thought he would be and his line of work was one of the careers I had assigned to his type. He was the Charmer and before he retired he was a lawyer.

The Charmer types are all extroverted so for careers for them I looked up articles that discussed careers that would be best suited for extroverted types.

The Designer types are more withdrawn so for them I looked up articles that discussed careers for introverted people. I also looked up articles about careers for people with Asperger's syndrome.

The Professional is more a combination of introversion and extroversion. I focused on careers that require a lot of nurturing because they all have a very nurturing caring nature about them.

photography? that seems to be the odd one out of the other technical, non emotional entries. Is not photography considered art?

Actually being a writer in general was said to be a good career choice for people with Asperger's Syndrome. So I guess that includes creative stuff like screenwriter and playwright.

Do you think there will be a demand for this? After I started promoting this concept as a career guide I found an Arabic website that was promoting my site as a theory of vocational guidance which gave me some hope.

I've added an assessment section to my site where the questionnaire is. Would love to have some feedback on people taking the assessment.
