Spirits living forever especially those infesting other minds - new or not - reminds me of stories by H.P. Lovecraft.jayjacobus wrote: ↑Sun Aug 02, 2020 11:00 pm Your spirit will live forever but if it doesn't like your mind, it will find a new mind.
By far the best thing about being dead is that time has released you from any further consequences.
Re: Philosophy of Mind
Yes, I sometimes marvel at how dead people whose memories I respect know nothing about this pandemic, or the present strength of electronic communications, or changes among the more trivial moral tenets, or the imminent death of our natural environment. And still I look to what these people would have said about these novel developments.Dubious wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 8:34 amSpirits living forever especially those infesting other minds - new or not - reminds me of stories by H.P. No its not! For many if not most, it's misery from first to last where oblivion is a holiday which never ends.

Surely you've met people who are oblivious to almost everything, though.
Just for the record, if your life is miserable, it's your own damn fault.

You don't have the talent for it; I'm sorry for taking you seriously.RCSaunders wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 12:46 amLighten up. It was sarcasm.
