sentience v cognition

To a sentient creature what matters is how things are in the present, and to a cognizant creature what matters is how things are expected to be in the future.

That's no bad, Advocate.

Of course, the cognizant are also sentient, but cognizance makes it possible to be, "conscious of," more than is available to immediate perception (the present) by means of concepts, making it possible to think about both the past and future as well as the present.

Are 'you', the adult human being in the days when this is being written, a sentient creature or a cognizant creature?

Being able to provide answers, and solutions, to how things are expected to be in the future will provide the answer to the preceding question.
