The thoughts of Nisargadatta Maharaj

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

Don’t you think it remarkable that an academic would write such a thing about an uneducated peasant?
The thing is, Gods ways are not academic and academics secretly know that. Academics put all their focus and attention onto a different kind of knowledge to that of the uneducated peasant.

The Wise know that only life is their real teacher, and that only through life experience and totally being in service and dedication to the hard work that is living and loving as a human being is what makes us wise...not what's written down on a piece of paper.

Relax. It was a simple question.
Your answer is yes, you do want to know.

It’s right there at your fingertips.

Book-form print is best. It’s quite accessible, everything is upfront.

Understanding may be deeper than you suspect.

Attempting to reconcile East and West drove Pirsig mad, and he was a bright fellow, so perhaps your instinctive reticence is spot on.

To paraphrase Trungpa Rinpoche, if you haven’t yet begun the spiritual search, best not to.

I understand that perfectly.

Remember no two people think alike Walker, i'm just pointing that out to you, we all make our own translations of what it is we are trying to understand.

That's why I love Nissy, he's spot on , the God spot is not hidden from us, it's right here in plain sight...blindingly obvious.

It might have been a simple question to me if I already knew what the questioneer was asking, but I didn't know what it was you wanted me to look at initially.

you just said ..you didn't read the material...so how was I supposed to know what that meant?

So you need to relax as well.

Sheesh.
They understand, or resonate alike, not think alike.

It's a feeling, not a thought.

When we start to use concepts /words, thoughts, to describe the feeling, we lose the actual feeling. The feeling is prior to anything thought imposes on it.

That's why discussions between two people can get very personal and offensive, because we cannot experience other peoples experiences, only our own.

Well, look around.
Look at where you are.

Writing is an intellectual activity.
It was so for Kabir and Rumi.
It has limitations.

The topic can either be the thoughts of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.
Or, they can be your thoughts.
When your thoughts are his, there you are.

And yes, many people do think alike.
This fact is the basis of standardized testing.
It's why David Copperfield is a success.

I wouldn't know if people think alike Walker.

How would I..it would only be a guess. And I don't personally believe life is based by the measurement of it's successes due to thinking a particular way either. Other wise to me that setting one self up for competition, I don't work like that.

That's because you don't listen.

I told you why, and you didn't refute the telling.

Evidence that many people think alike, abounds.

I just gave you two examples.

But to me, 'thoughts' are the narrative, the conceptual pointers, pointing us back to source.

Thoughts are not what we truly are...that's all I'm saying.

Walker, I've spent my whole life listening to myself, it was very hard work and took up a lot of my time.

The dedication paid off. I'm enjoying the fruit of my labour, I'm home with the beloved.

I also raised 4 kids single handed, and worked a job part time, and run a house. I think I am pretty qualified at being a multi tasking quantum multi dimensional being.

I'm not from this galaxy by the way, I'm just dropping by temporally to carry out my assignment of being a light worker.

So what do you think of this bit that I wrote earlier ..does it arouse any feeling in you that might trigger your own thoughts about what I've said?

The thought that is triggered is, did you even read what the academic in question, wrote?

No.

What did he write....I’ve looked back and can’t find anything relating to what the academic wrote...can you post the link again ...then I’ll take a look at it...I don’t mind doing reading, I just wasn’t aware I had to read it in the first place..
