Human Consciousness is a program...

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

Human Consciousness is a program...

Post by metachuck » Sat Jan 18, 2014 12:45 am

The sum of human consciousness is merely a program, comparable to computer programming written in the biological language of genetic code. Our conceptions of history, of time, of space and extension, of reality and causal relations and necessity, even meaning itself are all simply consequences of this programming. They do not reflect that which is. They reflect that which is within. They represent internal predispositions of phenomenological occurrence. As our consciousness begins to grasp this truth, and we begin to realize that this illusion we have labeled reality has no existence, then we understand that all is meaningless. At this profound moment we are confronted with the dreadfulness that is the desert of the real. The emptiness and the silence are horrifying; more terribly real than our emaciated simulations and fabrications of reality can stand. Our psyches tremble naked before the abyss. There is a deep conflict within those of us living in the nexus of the simulation (The rich and technological West), a gnawing ache that will not relent. We have more than anyone one the planet, yet we are miserable, discontented, and unfulfilled. We have awoken to the “dessert of the real” and are realizing that nightmares do not await those who embrace the ignorance of slumber. On the contrary, true nightmares wait grinning for those who refuse to sleep. We are playing out the final passages of code in the program of human awareness. Our fabricated universe has been deposed. It cannot give meaning to that which we now see has no meaning. We have eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and, as Hegel suggests, the fall of man into banality cannot be undone. We cannot reclaim our innocence, the programming of the simulation, of human consciousness, cannot be rewritten and the end is inevitable. Pandora has been released from her box and cannot be recaptured. Our eyes have been opened to the illusion of the simulation. Perhaps, through global war the program can be reinitiated, the system rebooted if you will, but there can be no synthesis for we have reached the last lines of code within the program. There is nothing to move on to. We have nowhere else to go. Game Over. Replay? Or Quit?

This is complete incoherent babble and raving, with horrorfying bad anologies.

It's starts off comparing human conciousness with a computer program, this clearly indicated that OP doesn't have the slightest clue about science.

when you say here the sum of human consciousness.you mean the sum of what is in human consciousness.consciousness of its self is singular and no matter what is inside it remains of its self unblemished.its like a toilet bowl it of its self is clean .

Kant was the inspiration for this and a little Matrix.

I'm intrigued, but could use more to help clarify. I'm not sure if this is intended as a logical argument, or more as a work of rhetorical art. If you'd like to develop it further, I would read with interest.
There is nothing to move on to. We have nowhere else to go.
There is nothing. We could stay here?

Why must there always be a something, and a place to go?

Actually a "physics" paper which suggested the same idea, which no doubt The Matrix borrowed from too. The Matrix is a damn good series of films, but it is far from original in most of its ideas.

I think it was Descartes and the evil genius argument.
