Re: "There has never been true communism."
Nothing you have posted here contradicts what I have said. Well, for starters, you said Mussolini wasn't a Communist. He was. His Fascism was just an expression of his already-in-place Socialism. The History Channel calls that fact surprising...I don't. I didn't say Mussolini wasn't a communist. In...

Re: Big Question 1
In other words, you are saying that my sense of well-being is delusional. I could just as easily say your sense of well-being is also delusional since it is based on a myth. You could believe that. Sure. And if your worldview were true, you would be right, just as I would be right about you if mine...

Re: "There has never been true communism."
Historically, not at all. They set them up every time. Mussolini got his start in the Italian Communists. Hitler was a National Socialist. Stalin inherited his dictatorship from Lenin et al. Look at what the Communists are doing to Hong Kong right now. Not at all, Mussolini and Hitler were fascists...

Re: Big Question 1
What's "well-being"? Hitler's version of well-being isn't yours, I trust. Nor is Stalin's, nor the Buddha's, nor Islam's. And for my part, I would never consider a man to be in a state of "wellbeing" who did not also have a right relationship with God -- that would be like claim...

Re: "There has never been true communism."
But socialists are opposed to dictatorial regimes. Historically, not at all. They set them up every time. Mussolini got his start in the Italian Communists. Hitler was a National Socialist. Re: Noumenon
The noumenon may be considered timeless and spaceless because it is not in time and space. I think this is basically correct. The noumenon is universal and therefore transcends time and space. If it wasn't timeless and spaceless then it would be phenomena Have you taken into account of what I wrote...

The only thing I can think of is that the noumenon is universal and therefore transcends time and space, a bit like Plato's Forms.raw_thought wrote: Can anyone explain why Kant's Noumenon is considered timeless and spaceless? We can debate later if the Noumenon is real or not.

Of what "predictions" are you thinking, G? Quantum physics deals with the behaviour of matter and light on an atomic and subatomic level. For example, quantum physics is used to calculate such things as energy and the magnetic property of atoms, it is also used to calculate the relationsh...

Re: Is God necessary for morality?
The difference between philosophical speculation and scientific speculation is that with scientific speculation the empirical evidence is out there. "Out there?" "Out there?" How do you know what's "out there," with no empirical evidence? I mean, the proponents...

Re: Is God necessary for morality?
But then, by definition, it's not science. It's philosophical speculation, just as the critics have already said. And I think we are unwise to pronounce in advance that empirical evidence will appear in the future. After all, how would we know, absent any empirical evidence? The difference ...

Re: Is God necessary for morality?
Well, of course not. comments? Admittedly, I have not read all of the replies in this thread, so I apologize if the following has already been mentioned. With that being said, if we consider the possibility that God may indeed be the Creator and sustainer of the universe, then the notion of God not...
