Constructive, thoughtful comments will be appreciated over argumentative rants and knee-jerk reactions Attracted to respond, not by the subject matter but by the word 'exp...

Re: The Problem of Communication
Grover: My impression of some philosophy papers is that they are the products of a wandering mind moving backwards and forwards as whim takes them. Could such minds be usefully disciplined to make clear-cut points, divided into sub-sections if necessary, before wandering off on another tangent... .....

Re: Experimental Philosophy by Joshua Alexander
AS: Either Richard Baron is getting better explaining things so that I can understand or I am getting better at understanding Philosophy! M: No 'Either/Or' about it, AS - but both. Every day in every way, PN people just keep getting better and better :D I picked this for discussion, leaving a first ...

Re: Experimental Philosophy by Joshua Alexander
Interesting. Never heard of 'experimental philosophy'... << This is what experimental philosophy sets out to do. Make up stories that pose philosophical questions, and ask people from all sorts of backgrounds for their intuitive reactions. Ask whether Bob knows. It turns out that people from western...

After mulling it over, I decided to re-subscribe to the PN magazine. Rick and team do a great job and deserve all support
