Re: Free will
You suck... and yes Philosophy is useless bullshit...we all have opinions and you what they say about opinions.... thought experiments all call bullshit on each other so as far as I am concerned its all pointless....or at the least entertainment.

Re: Free will
It's hard not to subscribe to the idea that our thoughts are generated by a physical body ruled by the deterministic laws of science (nevermind the [randomness] of quantum mechanics), in such a manner that in the very end there's no absolutely free will. But, as someone else already put in this top...

Re: Is any purported work of sacred scripture the word of Go
Thank you
I guess what I'm trying to say is that no one can "ask" god if he wrote any of them therefore the answer is no.

Re: freedom and punishment....
Although I agree with you that the Libertarian view is very flawed to say the least....more like a cop out, I don't think our current judicial system works. I feel we make better criminals....if we treat someone like a criminal they will act like one. Look at our history in regards to the treatment ...

Re: Is the human being purely material.......
Free will is the capacity of consciousness to make choices within an individual's level of self awareness by using their intent. Free will is a necessary characteristic of evolving consciousness structures whose goal is the expansion of knowledge, better alignment, potentiality, and love. Without co...

Re: Is any purported work of sacred scripture the word of Go
Thanks for all the lengthy responses...I find them all interesting. This one is controversial for many...but I say emphatically HELL NO :!: There are so many christians in my class so I'm sure I'll get backlash. I have to say that everyone has rewritten the bible, Koran,....how can anyone claim it w...

Re: Taxes for entitlement programs....immoral ?
Bob the baptist... :D you are so correct...I like your mind-set. In my opinion Bob said it perfectly I would only like to add that people can offset entitlement programs through volunteering, and donations. Morality has nothing to do with this issue either way. People can choose to live in intention...

Re: Is polygamy immoral?
@ 3sum...thanks for making the point about genetic mutations...I'm a nursing major so this relates perfectly. After realizing that point I will answer it in two parts. Firstly, I don't think we should judge whether it is moral or not...to each his own. Secondly, It poses a threat to the survival of ...
