Quite a different direction to what I've seen for gallery shows. Very nice!

Re: The problem with "nothing".

The problem you appear to have with "nothing" is simply the word itself creating the confusion. Do not use "nothing" but rather the words "no thing" and enter the metaphysical where all ' things ' arise and all ' things ' return... to 'no thing-ness.' Within 'no thing' ...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

The highlighted clause is the only true part of your statement. Again, your statement is nothing but one other opinion. Boring, Dub, boring hearing the SOS over and over never concluding with anything. What you seem absolutely blind to is how the art world conducts business. ...but you still can't ...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

Hey , if you're going to denigrate me, at least have the courtesy to share some of that wine and cheese first, ya snotty priss. And fuck you for denigrating comic art, you moist vagina. Hey , if you're going to participate on an open board and voice your opinions, be ready to accept the consequence...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

Your simplicity is astounding if not laughable! Consider "Merda d'artista" by Piero Manzoni an Italian "artist" who canned his own poop as an art object! You make that statement and then in the same breath write this - Is it necessary to mention it was only an example based on t...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

In practice, there are a shitload of 'art experts', prissy little snobs they are , that will try to influence the price, by telling others just how superb bozo the chimp's fingerprintings are... over wine and cheese, of course. How little you know, Dalek. Fearful little people who have a set attitu...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

Enough people love Picasso's work to push up the price. If he played noughts and crosses on a scrap of paper and signed it, it would be worth a fortune. The large prices we are so used to hearing about are from auction houses that begin bids at a predetermined sum and the price rises as the collect...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

Thank you, Hobbes and Dub for your opinions, I have my own that obviously differ with the both of you and there the all the talk ends. It is useless to continue this piss-off. I'm sure you both agree.

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

Most people who pay these kind of absurd prices are less inclined to like the paintings they purchase - though they may - but as an investment independent of one's personal tastes. Almost every time paintings by the famous are auctioned it's usually always at a considerably higher price then previo...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

... I am not attacking Picasso as such, but one example of his work. How do you rate the 3 images yourself? How can you admit you are "not attacking Picasso" but in the same breath say "but one example of his work"? You either accept what the man has done as he has done them (li...

Re: Picasso: genius taking the piss?

"But this example - is it anything more than a result of his prodigious drug taking? Does it have any merit beyond is obscene price? By contrast the first picture has delicacy, and sensitivity." It is obvious that you are trying to find someone to agree with you. An artist paints what the...

Re: seeking gods to avoid Truth

If you make God into a gender, or assign God any specific physical trait, you make God in a deity such as an idol; and this is a rejection of true monotheism. Ian, you're turning this into a preaching. I've already concurred w/ you that this presence you call "god' is genderless, and yet you k...

Re: seeking gods to avoid Truth

If you are referring to the monotheistic God of abrahamic religions, God is genderless and can 'has never been seen at any time'. If you are referring to other Gods which are identifiable, like idols or deities, .... well, be sure to specify; there is a big difference. Ian: "God is genderless ...

seeking gods to avoid Truth

god came into being when order and control corroded into chaos and anarchy. this was renamed free will and gave all an excuse to blame our ignored responsibilities on some he-god up there somewhere that controls our lives. this he-god gave us free will because if he didn't he-god wouldn't be a nice ...
