Evolution & Reincarnation

Would evolution take place if reincarnation didn't exist? In other words, is reincarnation a vital part of evolution? If it is not, what are the factors that produce evolution?

Re: What creates matter?

I disagree that matter creates consciousness. 1. Matter cannot see, hear or feel whereas consciousness can. 2. Matter is limited were as consciousness is unlimited. How can that which is limited create what is unlimited? You end with what you start with. If you start with something limited, the end ...

Re: free will-how can it exist?

Free-will implies choice. Freewill does not imply or mean using the same "thing" or "source" to choose. Thought choosing red rather than blue or right rather than left is not free-will. It is merely thought making a choice or decision. In order for free-will to exsist there has t...

Re: Question about philosophy, religion & science

When I talk about "religion", I am not talking about organized religion but rather religion in its purist form. Some call that form "spiritual" because it is free of dogma, superstition and rituals. Keeping that in mind, does science, religion and philosophy mutually agree that c...

Re: Question about philosophy, religion & science

Surely the goal of any investigation is to have science, religion and philiosphy mutually agree upon their findings. Likewise, it is wise if all three are viewed equally with the same respect.

Re: What creates matter?

Everything in Nature desires to recreate itself. No - most of nature has no desire at all. Thus, it's possible that that the product of "naught" recreating itself caused the big bang which in turn produced the non-physical world, which in turn produced the physical world. Gibberish. I sho...

Re: What creates matter?

1) All the evidence. And I mean ALL of it demonstrates that consciousness came FROM matter. There is nothing by way of evidence, theory, speculation that goes one inch towards your laughable view that matter came from consciousness. Nothing. 2) The notion that something cannot come from nothing is ...

Re: What creates matter?

First thing you have to realise is that the BB is a model. A model that precludes the existence of anything before it- or at least knowledge of anything before. We have no direct knowledge of that time - all is speculation. The second thing you have to realise it that your speculation is ridiculous...

Re: What creates matter?

Most of the posts regarding my question seem to pertain to the Big Bang. Consequently, I can only wonder, what created the Big Bang? Was it caused by consciousness realizing it's existence or something else. Could the Big Bang have been a part of life's evolutionary process? To understand this, we h...

Re: What creates matter?

Thank you for your comments regarding "What creates matter?" Personally, I feel or perceive the source of everything is consciousness. I say that for everyrthing has a source - something cannot come from nothing. There is the possiblity that that consciousness is the source of everything. ...

Re: Question about philosophy, religion & science

I will revise my original question. Are there any findings found via science, religion and philosophy in agreement? The findings of all three are obtained differently and usually do no mutually agree upon anything. Thus I was wondering of all three have mutually agreeed upon some finding or discovery.

What creates matter? Is matter a product of consciousness? Does the recreation of consciousness create matter. Is matter condensed consciousness?

Re: Is "lack of belief" a "kind of belief?"

Please help me out here. How does arguing about this or that belief accomplish anything favorable? Is philosophy a contest or a quest for truth and understanding? Could it be possible that any attempt to determine if one belief is more favorable, accurate or valid than another prevent one for questi...
