Re: Music

Hallelujah, I'm a Bum! Hallelujah! Of course 'bum' means 'ass' (arse) over here  We'd call a bum a tramp, which would be all wrong in your lingo :D Not sure what you'll make of this old ballad, orginally an English folk tale, but this version is sung by the Irish folk singer Christie Moore. ...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

Human trafficking is bad in and of itself - of course it is. But does anyone actually believe that the people working in porn have been 'human trafficked'? Why would any porn producer traffick or drug humans when there is a surplus of people desperate to get into porn? The casting agencies always h...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

For those who feel they can't live without porn, perhaps there should be a move towards developing a non-violent, non abusive version of erotica involving real-life couples in non-violent and mutually enjoyable scenarios? Maybe this already exists? I don't know as it's just something that comes to ...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

A question for Nisus : I'd be interested to know how old you were when first exposed to hardcore porn? I ask this question because I'm wondering if it may have shaped your current worldview? In my opinion (no doubt you will correct me if I'm mistaken), it's potentially very destructive indeed for a...

Re: hello-goodbye

That's a pity because you are slightly more acceptable than Satyr, RU, Jean, Straw Dog and others like him. I had hoped you would reply to the following question intended for the Pornography Addiction thread: but I'll post it here and there in the hope you'll find a moment to spare before you depart...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

Peter wrote: What we witness in pornography - and something already alluded to by others - is nothing more than abused children recreating their own trauma. Revisiting upon themselves the sexual and psychological debasement that turned them into empty caricatures of humans in the first place. They h...

Re: Music

Well I enjoyed the cartoon Bondi. In all honesty, the music was fun but didn't quite do it for me. I like the raw American folk best of all. For instance, the early music of the Appalachian Mountain settlers (as in the Iris Dement link). Their lives were extremely hard and often tragic, which comes ...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

AS: As I said in my previous post, we are talking about different things here: I'm talking about the monetary greed, the drug-fuelled abuse and exploitation of emotionally damaged people (i.e. the Porn Industry), whereas you are talking about sex itself. Whether or not Shelley Lubbin is using her 'f...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

AS: It's true...constant exposure to porn can have a numbing effect. But this can be said with any relationship...the longer we are exposed to any sexual experience (including those with the people we love) is eventually going to have a numbing effect. Hell, even if we try to constantly spice up our...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

I don't know how accurate the following report is, but according to its author, Shelley Lubben (ex-porn star), 60-80% of porn actors were sexually abused as children. Perhaps I should have started a new thread on this issue, but I'll post here for now. http://www.shelleylubben.com/articles/pornstars...

Re: Music

The following is not Blue Grass, but American/Scots-Irish traditional folk. I love this song by Iris Dement from the film Songcatcher. She has an incredibly emotional voice - not a pretty voice, but gives me goose bumps. By the way, ignore the 'fiddler' in the film clip as he's only pretending. Obvi...

Natural impropriety has it's charm too... WARNING When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm ...

Re: What causes porn addiction???

Camus, you raise the important point about the definition of porn. It would seem that it's categorisation is in the eye of the beholder. What some regard nowadays as 'soft porn' or eroticism would have been very shocking to the general public a century ago or less. Regarding porn addiction - constan...

Hello Barbara, For a long time I've been meaning to say I'm amazed that you post here day after day, seemingly oblivious to everyone else. And yet you do interact with other forum members when called upon, or if you feel compelled to respond. It's always a nice surprise when you do! May I ask whethe...
