Re: Does an atheist seek Wisdom, Knowledge, or both?

Why couldn't they or wouldn't they seek whatever, just like a theist? Sage wisdom is not gained from atheist knowledge, it requires a degree of theistic faith to be given such insight. Are you saying that "sage wisdom" (as you know it) is the only true wisdom? So, your question wasn't rea...

Re: Point Zero Tunneling and "Time" Mining

Well then, good luck with getting answers, indeed wisdom, from spiritual atheism. (woteva that is!) From my perspective, it doesn't have anything to do with theism or atheism. It's just natural. Why would I need luck? I already get answers naturally (as I said), don't you? You just, perhaps, attrib...

Re: Does an atheist seek Wisdom, Knowledge, or both?

Why couldn't they or wouldn't they seek whatever, just like a theist? Are you defining wisdom and knowledge as something specific that you think it is? And are you suggesting that theists do it a certain way? People can do all kinds of things, regardless of their affiliations or lack of them. Platfo...

Re: Point Zero Tunneling and "Time" Mining

being spiritually IN TUNE...that's a thing called theism  It's not logical or wise to think it's that narrow. Ok. So is Pantheism or Panentheism too narrow? Are you wanting to identify a belief that is the right/best definition of being spiritually in tune? I don't think it's logical or wi...

Re: Point Zero Tunneling and "Time" Mining

I agree with everything you said, except... I don't agree that logic has to be rigid...it can flex with new information. No, over time logic gets pretty rigid. As your web of beliefs grows wider updating all of it as new information arrives becomes more and more expensive. Logic CAN be rigid or not....

Re: Point Zero Tunneling and "Time" Mining

I DONT read atheist to theist posts - the entire conversation is usually extremely boring and redundant. As are theist to atheist posts. Just wondering why you keep representing atheists vs. theists in a lop-sided fashion? Sorry, what caused your mind to consider I presented a lop-sided view? Try t...

Re: Point Zero Tunneling and "Time" Mining

If 'all sorts of things work' do you then think that wisdom should be logical? Logic is created by humans and is exceptionally rigid - it is a limit that we impose on ourselves, not a limit the world imposes on us. I think the concept of wisdom (as with all human thinking) is created by humans...ba...

Re: Point Zero Tunneling and "Time" Mining

The only reason theists are crazier than atheists is because they've simmered in their 'crazy-broth' for longer. They are the same kind of crazy. I don't know about that. I think we're all kinda crazy but I don't think it's necessarily the same kind of crazy. There are lots of contributing factors ...

Re: Point Zero Tunneling and "Time" Mining

It's rather sad, especially among the fervent atheist types that they must bond their allegiances and disregard the true pursuit of wisdom. Is it rather sad among the fervent theist types that they must bond their allegiances and disregard the true pursuit of wisdom... or do you not recognize that ...

Re: Values and Things

Values and Things We live at the macro-level and perceive accordingly. It has long been odd to me that anything in the physical-ethical world or worlds should be seen as made up fundamentally of things. Let alone anything we can perceive. The fundamentals of ethics are inchoate values and also the ...
