Re: Music

Always helps to dispel Brian Ferry's lounge lizard image  .

Reminded me of Kate Bush's Snowed In At Wheeler Street with Elton John http://vimeo.com/32776587 - time-crossed lovers - but video is a bit schmaltzy.

Be aware that it is a bit beefy when it is running so could slow any other PC applications you are usin...

Re: alternatives to taxation

The joys of education in its many forms  . I recall my nephew coming home in tears one day because he had been taught at school that cigarette smoking kills. Both his parents smoked and he pleaded with them to stop so that they wouldn't die. Thankfully the message stayed with him and he has ne...

There really is only one way to 'see' The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy , and that is by listening to the original version - the Radio Serial. It is available on audiobook. Its great for long car journeys or in a context where you are using your eyes for something else but are able to listen, suc...

Re: Changing names

Marriage and a woman's decision to change her name. Something I never thought of as I exchanged vows. I was now married to the man of my choice and taking his name had nothing to do with being "oppressed" and it never felt like it was archaic. I never had strong feelings about keeping my ...

Re: ethics of Surrogacy

John, I would have thought about asking similar questions but why should it be only to a single man? :D. If I understand your question correctly, I asked this of John, a single man, because this is the subject of this thread. I would also address these questions and comments to any single person co...
