Not sure what you mean here. I'd say it is the idea of getting rid of any theoretical paradigm, but I may be misundersanding the question.

Re: Darwin Meets Socrates

You will probably agree with Prof Jacob Needleman who explains philosophy as I understand it. "……………………….The function of philosophy in human life is to help Man remember. It has no other task. And anything that calls itself philosophy which does not serve this function is simply not philosophy……………...

Re: Has Professional Philosophy Been Corrupted by Logical Fallacies?

According to Occam's razor, it's a fact unless proven otherwise. Er, not quite. It might be a fact unless proven otherwise. The 'religious' theory is that consciousness and reality aren't the same phenomenon. It's a batshit crazy theory actually, and the entire Western world believes in it. Yes, th...

It is an interpretation of QM and an explanation of religion and a solution for philosophy. Call it what you want.

Re: Has Professional Philosophy Been Corrupted by Logical Fallacies?

I don’t think it’s so much that Consciousness and Reality are the “same” phenomenon, but more that they are two complementary aspects of the same fundamental substance, and that neither one could exist independent of the other in any meaningful or logical context. No offense, but what you think is ...

Re: Darwin Meets Socrates

Consider "the Transcendent Unity of Religions" by Frithjof Schuon. Yes. An excellent book Philosophy cannot be introduced when it isn't wanted. Philosophy must remember its original intent as a means to remember what has been forgotten Not sure I follow this comment. I am a metaphysician not a reli...

Re: Has Professional Philosophy Been Corrupted by Logical Fallacies?

I thought that was a religious theory It's a fundamental theory. As such it has implications for physics, metaphysics, religion, psychology and just about everything else. Those who think it is a 'religious' theory and thus nothing to do with science or philosophy just need to read a book about it....

Re: Darwin Meets Socrates

Can you imagine the difference it would make for a person when they come to realize that all the traditional paths initiating with a conscious source come together at the 'Way" which leads to the source of perennial wisdom. Society would be transformed. But I cannot see how it can happen until the ...

Re: Has Professional Philosophy Been Corrupted by Logical Fallacies?

If nobody had a workable metaphysical theory than there would be no issue. However, while their is no theory in professional philosophy, not even a glimmer of one, there is an old theory that works perfectly well that they rarely bother to study. This lack of study is a disgrace, and it means that ...

Re: Darwin Meets Socrates

I think you are right. The question is if the brain is the creator or the receiver of consciousness? The answer seems obvious but why is it rejected by so many? My guess is that to accept that our brains are receivers of consciousness we must assume there is a source of pure consciousness which rai...

Re: A Muslim is one who had Entered into a Contract with Allah.

yep. as for all Religions of the world there are the "mystic" sects, like the Kabbalist for the Jews. I'm sure there are equivalents for the Buddists, Hindus, and Jains. i'm just too ignorant to know of them. as an ignoramous, i know there must be some "mystic" sect of Christianity - be it from the...

Re: Has Professional Philosophy Been Corrupted by Logical Fallacies?

Allow me to put it more bluntly then. This forum is awash with total idiots who think they are amazing, and they all think their own brilliance is being ignored because [academic philosophy/ western philosophy/some sort of linear logic mafia] is too corrupt or self-serving to appreciate their gifts...

Re: How can a Christian support Trump?

if I believed in biblical prophecy would it not be logical to say that Trump is the antichrist? I doubt he's this important, although he'd love to think he is. As for the question of how a Christian can support Trump, I've been asking myself this question for a long time and have no answer. I suppo...

Re: I am who I am

Everybody is himself/herself so they can say I am who I am. Interestingly this phrase doesn't give more than any obvious information. I am wondering why people consider this as a definition of God. What a good question. On this view God is the pristine awareness of 'I Am'. You may say 'I am' but li...
