Re: What is Happening in Baltimore Today is Not Hate...

I think the gulf between whites and black will get bigger and the power of the police will become weaker as well so much that when blacks are committing a crime like breaking into your home and you call the police they'll transfer you to an encounter group or local parish for help.

Re: are you just a big bang visitor

Arp is right: moderns defend red shift as medieval thinkers defended epicycles to save the phenomenon. When science demands that red shifts are the result of expansion and are factual, then science has become dogmatic and lost it scientific inquiry. Your belief in dark matter is also mentioned by Ar...

Re: I would be interested to hear others thoughts on this quote from Nietzsche

"Power over oneself" is the modern watered down, psychological interpretation of Nietzsche, where anything against the insufferable status quo is cast aside.

Re: I would be interested to hear others thoughts on this quote from Nietzsche

Regardless, Also Sprach Zaranthustra, remains one of the greatest works of all time. Its message is quite clear: man stands alone in this world as he can evolve into Superhumanity or elect to debase himself into human sand. Nietzsche stands for the strong and powerful, those unafraid of the future a...

Re: I would be interested to hear others thoughts on this quote from Nietzsche

Very good interpretation of the Wille zur Macht. I'm glad to see that someone has a correct interpretation of Nietzsche. A good book on this subject is by a friend of mine, Abir Taha, called "The Cult of the Superman," We argue a lot on the methods at arriving at Ubermensch as she believes...

Re: are you just a big bang visitor

The Big Bang is not a fact but a theory based upon Red Shifts. Even Hubbell himself believed that there may be other explanations for the red shift other than expansion. Red Arp's "Seeing Red," as I am only quoting him..

Re: Good philosophy vs bad philosophy

Good philosophy is anything that promotes vigor, strength, and power. Bad philosophy is that which shackles mankind with dogma, conscience, loss of power. Anyone can argue anything in philosophy so much one cannot differentiate the good from the bad. What matters if it promotes vitality.

Re: are you just a big bang visitor

The Big Bang, regardless of modern science attempt to establish it as standard dogma, is just a theory and may, according to some experts (Halton Arp, Seeing Red be wrong. That would make the Big Bang on the same level as epicycles, necessary to same the phenomenon. Actually the Big Bang doesn't exp...

Re: Intelligience is a Cure

Intelligence is a tool to our continued survival on this planet. Without it we would have gone extinct millions of years ago as we learned how to make weapons and tools, fire, etc. Also I am proud of what we humans have figured out using intelligence about ourselves and the world around us. Understa...

Re: Ontology

Yes, I have all the works of Heidegger as ontology is the study of Being as such first introduced by Parmenides then Aristotle. It is the backbone of phenomenology. Raised on Humean philosophy I find ontology's tedious arguments only to lead in circles with textbooks of word definitions and referenc...

Re: Why do we Think? The Purpose of Thought. Argument o Hedo

If we ever reach this "Eternal, blissful" state then we will become extinct. Life means struggle, pain, the will to dominate, the will to power.
