Re: God and COVID-19

If you are talking evolution and humans evolving then you've pretty much departed from most religious cosmologies to start with. Sure, I imagine humans have evolved. We evolved to survive in an indifferent universe, not one of a caring God. I kind of believe in God (but I want to emphasize I do not...

Re: God and COVID-19

If I were God I wouldn't create viruses, and if people are to die, they should die by less horrible means than suffocating in their own blood. If I were God I would make the universe more hospitable to humans if there is to be overpopulation and therefore more space is needed. If I were God I would...

Re: God and COVID-19

Likewise, if you want to ensure that nobody are left to die a horrible death, I'm sure there are other side-effects of that assurance as well. So what would be a negative side effect of people dying peacefully? Logic has almost not bearing on whether or not the Sun supernovas or whether the univers...

Theodicy-problem: Why does God allow evil?

I'd like to address the Theodicy-problem during this horrible pandemic. People suffer, and it's not only because of the carelessness or evil by other humans. It's nature itself causing innocent people - to suffer a horrible death. I'm not addressing the philosophical issue of wether God exists or no...

The problem with Conservatism

If Conservatives was kept in power in the 20th century without opposition and pressure from the left, things would look very different from the world we live in today: * Poor people would never get a vote. * Welfare benefits would not exist in any form, only labor camps for the poor and sick - workh...

Re: Can we abolish Quantum Mechanics?

P.S. Why did you select that name for a title? I didn't see you arguing to abolish anything. Sorry about the title, but lack words to describe my idea. I feel it is best represented through pictures/graphics. I imagine it like hundreds upon thousands or millions (any number) of possible games of ch...

Can we abolish Quantum Mechanics?

What if the universe is really like a fixed set of all possible arrangements of all the particles in the entire universe, down to the planck scale/length/time/whatever the smallest unit? As an example, let's suppose we have a universe with just 3 particles, A, B and C. There are different ways to ar...

Dachshund: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/mar/02/the-unwelcome-revival-of-race-science Although race science has been repeatedly debunked by scholarly research, in recent years it has made a comeback. Many of the keenest promoters of race science today are stars of the “alt-right”, who like t...

Re: Scandinavian Democracy is the only democracy that works

Proportional representation is even more undemocratic. You have people becoming MPs who might not have got a single vote, simply because they were high enough on the Party List or because their party reached the 5% threshold. It's a sitting duck for nutty extremists. It's also nororiously unstable....

Re: This is True Conservatism

So what do you think is the reason for the strong correlation between blacks and homicide in the US. Why do they continue to blow each other away with guns at such a staggering rate relative to whites? What do you think is the reason for this black bloodbath, old sport ? Black people are more often...

Re: This is True Conservatism

That's Conservatism for you, right there! Conservatives are monsters. Here's the problem for that claim. "Conservative" is not a particular ideology, but rather an answer to the question, "How do things need to be changed?" Conservatism's answer is "Slowly and carefully, so...

Re: Entanglement and Information

Again no, speeding up evolution is one part of it. To give some examples, enzymes in your body, and your ability to smell, are using quantum effects right now (the second one is questionable though). Or look up the European Robin if you want to see quantum entanglement exploited in a living body (p...
