Re: Philosophies...

"... I have literally seen all of the arguments before. You may have "seen" all of the arguments before today, but what have they gotten you? Flitting about Philosophy Now has only gotten you more mental food to chew on but hardly nutritionally good for your Being. Unless you want to...

That is very positive, "Harbal". Enjoy the journey thought will give you and remember no one subject should be ignored.

Re: Philosophies...

Or as I like to put it: Philosophy is thinking about things. You may "like" putting Philosophy in that small box but you err. Just a cursory look at this site, Philosophy Now, which has a board index. I'm sure you're aware of this but you've not given any thought to the topics listed, i.e...

Re: Philosophies...

That is an absolute statement... I agree so why taint truth with the unsettling of the mind? Using mind exclusively will always end up dry, without a definite solution, without Truth which was the initial reasoning behind the your contradiction (which is a mind trick that has no solution). I would ...

Re: Philosophies...

Life is philosophys' absolute. Philosophy serves life and is measured by life. Life does not serve philosophy. Philosophy does not measure life. Without life, philosophy does not exist. Temple. Templum. Contemplate. The temple is both you and the object. Has your list been taught to you? Is your li...

Re: The Ultimate Challenge of the Human Mind

I'm not going to make the same mistake twice, mtmynd1, this isn't a joke post, you're being serious, right? I feel I must repeat myself lest you are deaf or perhaps blind - "Curious if your handle, "Harbal" is a misspelling of "Horrible". Your replies sure are." BTW: t...

"Silly" is your comment for it arises from your lack of understanding that which you are bedeviled to comprehend. Call it "silly" so it will go away, but it doesn't because the subject has become a small part of you.

Re: Philosophies...

Questions are how we learn more especially about ourselves, is it not? Questions arise from the mind... the same place where the answers lie. The reason we "ask" is to know, the reason to "know" is to understand; the reason to "understand" is to find the next question ...

Re: Philosophies...

I would agree with most of what you say, but I would suggest that philosophy does have temples, they are just not recognized as such. In a way they are more like the early church which was wherever several people gather to discuss philosophy or religion. And it does have the faithful to one or seve...
