Re: Bots
For that matter, I’m never certain that I am not a bot. If only I could know what consciousness is and whether I have it I believe I’m self-aware (or aware of something that I think is me) but I don’t know if that makes me sentient Can someone please help me? Or should I just add my name to the lis...

Re: woke
The Left also hates dissenting opinions, Of course dissenting opinions are not part of the Left’s dogma, just as dissenting opinions are not part of the Right’s. Individualism, you say, encourages individual ideas. But those individual ideas, most homogenously, must oppose Pro-Choice, Gun Safety, g...

Re: woke
But according to you 'the left' means 'woke', so 'the right' must mean 'fascist'. I’d say the opposite of woke (awakened) is asleep or slumbering. Republicans are slumbering, unaware of or ignoring the collectivist problems of our marginalized members of society. At its worst, the extreme Right, in...

Re: woke
... Quite clear and concise. The Left also hates dissenting opinions, which is quite a deviation from Liberalism, in keeping with how they redefine Liberalism. The Left will crush dissenting opinions with censorship because dissent tends to interfere with the collectivist view, which exp...

I, for one, found your definition of the Left but didn’t see what you said about the Right.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 4:03 amCouldn't find it?vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 1:46 amImmanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 1:35 am
Yeah, I did. I even gave the ideological positions I regarded as on each side, and said why. Page 12, in the middle.

But I certainly couldn't be "telling people how to live" if they have no idea what I believe, could I? 8) I don’t see why you couldn’t tell them anyway, no matter whether they know what your beliefs are or not. If I do "tell them," then my beliefs are no longer a mystery. I've &...

Re: woke
You might as well say that everyone who votes centre-right is a member of the KKK. No, the original KKK, the Segregationists, and even the slave owners were all Democrats. Don't trust me on that: go and check. I'm right about that. They were never "center-right" or even "right" ...

Have you made any intersting discoveries in the area of personal excitement management I went to a war, where I experienced the kind of excitement that accompanies danger. I got used to it. I managed to sleep at night even though I might be killed in my sleep. I just accepted that that was the case.

Re: woke
Why is 'cultural appropriation' (who comes up with these shit terms?) evil and despicable, Yes, cultural appropriation is such a bad thing, yet one culture has adopted elements of another forever. But I ask where did rock’n roll come from before white suburbanites began to sing You Ain’t Nothin’ bu...

Re: AI
Sure, but what is the immaterial aspect? The “place” where thought exists. Bah. I had this discussion with BigMike and although we disagree re free-will/determinism we both agree that thoughts are material. Thoughts couldn't exist without having material physical substance. Then it might be more ap...
