Re: Welcome to our new forum!

One difference between the new forum software (phpBB 3) and the old version (phpBB 2) is that in this new version, links no longer open in a new window. I thought that was quite a handy feature of the old version. In the new version, once you click a link in somebody's post then you leave the forum ...

Re: rick, can you get soros interviewed for philosophy now ?

Hi Jason

Not a bad idea - I'll look into it. We're going to try to do something on economics etc this year, for obvious reasons, and Soros' connection with Karl Popper is interesting too.

Issue 71 - the Darwin issue!

Philosophy Now Issue 71 is now out, and has a Darwin theme. This is because 2009 contains Charles Darwin's 200th birthday (later this month) and is also the 150th anniversary of the first publication of On The Origin of Species . Bora will be updating the website with the new issue in the next day o...

Re: Welcome to our new forum!

As I've said in the other threads, this is only temporary.

Actually, I think I quite like this format - it is growing on me! Still, I wouldn't foist it on everyone else here against their wishes.

Re: Wanting advice on a Philosophy degree

Hello W.O. - welcome to the forum!

In addition to the places Richard has listed, you could also try the University of Illinois. I think they do
graduate philosophy courses by distance learning:

Re: Hi , you all know me

Probably a little known fact but I am an avid philosophy fan. I received an email from my agent about Philosophy Now and have been reading here for the last two weeks. As you know , I am not one to pull punches on opinions, so I hope to be able to contribute some of my views here from now on. Regar...

Hi philofra We're waiting too! The latest news is that the mags have made it from the printers to the distribution depot, and that the mailing house have started sending out copies to subscribers. However, I haven't seen a copy myself yet! Hope you like Issue 70 when it arrives. The theme of the iss...

New-look website

Bora has just (this evening) completed the redesign of the Philosophy Now website. If you get a mo, do take a look at it. All feedback, constructive criticisms and suggestions for further improvements gratefully received! Thanks.

IF Bora is in my area (Albany/Troy/Schenectady), Bora is welcome to get in touch and meet with me and other local philosophers - real live ones with PhD's and all the trimmings (unlike little old me). Hiya I've been away for the last couple of days and missed your posting above. Bora flew back to L...

Sadly it is a little late this time. Bora (our webmaster and online editor) is currently wandering around upstate New York and trying in odd moments to update the PN website from his laptop, but it is obviously taking him longer than usual for that reason.
