Re: It's Friday the 13th!

I like "far out". Do tell! I believe we are living in a virtual reality, made by unknown beings in a different universe. I belive those beings are toying with us. For fun. Ah!! Well, I can accept that. It would explain a lot of things. Sometimes I definitely feel like I'm being toyed with...

Re: If an Alien Life Form...

I'm guessing that advanced alien life/energy forms would view humans as very primitive... going through the motions of evolution. Depending on the aliens, they could view us with compassion (and want to protect or help us)... or with disgust (and want to take advantage of us or wipe us out). Both po...

I have a theory about what happened, but it's "far out" and coming from me it's also predictable. So I'll be quiet.

Re: It's Friday the 13th!

What you descibe, sounds like a forrest fire. When those occur, all animals flee away from it, in what seems to appear as the same direction. Did it occur in a dry warm period? No... and there were no fires in the area. They didn't all come from the same direction, and they weren't crossing my path...

Re: It's Friday the 13th!

Hooray!! This calls for a celebration! :D I don't think I've ever noticed Friday the 13th being a particularly tricky day. I like to imagine it as lucky. But there are some days -- out of the blue! -- when all kinds of weird stuff happens for no apparent reason at all. It all seems to pile up on a s...

Re: An Existential Question For Those Who Do The Most Enormous Harm

Thanks. I'm still here. I pop in from time to time though sometimes less frequently than others. So I'm wondering... does it make any difference for you when people point out alternatives to the particular perspective you are describing... or do you feel intent on the perspective (or even overwhelm...

Re: Dear Abby: What do I do with this love poem?

Just curious...

What would you think about your girlfriend writing a similar poem to a man?

Would it bother you at all for her to do that?

What would you think her intent was if she were to do such a thing?

Re: An Existential Question For Those Who Do The Most Enormous Harm

Hey Gary, I hope you're still around because you're one of the nicest people on this site. You seem very genuine, and you often ask good and thoughtful questions. While all of the things you said are "true", there is much more that is also true. For all the terrible, wasteful, destructive ...

You're like one of those turtles bloated with gas bobbing on the surface..if only you could just go a little deeper. That makes no sense and doesn't fit me in any way. Instead of hurling stupid, inapplicable insults, why don't you answer the questions in my previous post. They were customized just ...

Yes, I know. You’re an unlicensed philosophy inspector, with no interest in the topic, who lacks the ability to present the flip side of a dualistic coin so instead distracts with little a little picking and nibbling at the edges of off-topic stuff. So, if I'm nibbling at your comments... then I gu...

Re: Exposing Liberal Hypocrisy and Conservative Close-Mindedness

It's not even my thread, and when you boil it down, you haven't contributed to it. I think the OP is a very good look at both sides. Interesting and informative. I don't feel compelled to challenge a broad view like that. However, I did feel compelled to challenge what you said -- and challenging w...

try challenging the thread topic with more than feelings and insult Take your own advice, Walker: These insights are to be applied to oneself. Don't worry so much about other people. And I'll do you the favor of adding a few more tips for you: Stop blaming everyone else in your weak "arguments...
