Re: There is no such thing as knowing

Indeed, that is why we can eliminate the supposed category of KNOWLEDGE OF reducing it all to KNOWLEDGE HOW You loo...

Re: There is no such thing as knowing

What do you mean by, it all depends on context all the best, rantal If I am sitting down writing a post. I still know how to ride a bike; I might know of a particular bike. But I would not have to be currently conscious of that. Just like, I bet you know of numbers, and now how to count, but you we...

Re: The Art of War

I think you mean the 'axis' of evil? How can you conduct a war against a noun? Of course when a war was fought against Germany it was thought against that which the word refered to not the word itself. Similarly a war against an 'axis of evil' is also fought against that to which the word refers no...

Re: There is no such thing as knowing

It seems to me that the difference between knowing about, knowing of, and knowing how is limited to practice, but epistemological are not different from each other. Knowing 'of' can be expressed in "knowing how" and vice versa. How would you express knowing how to ride a bike in terms of ...

What do you call the taste of sugar, when you actually experience it? Do you 'know' that taste? When I taste sugar I know how to describe it, this I have learnt to do all the best, rantal But obviously if you eat salt you know that it is not sugar. SO what are you saying here? If I eat salt, I may ...

But you can't fight the word. You have to attack the people and bomb the buildings.
Nevertheless a war was conducted against Germany and Germany is a noun

Re: Free will and hunger

Of course you cannot reliably predict free will purely because it is free. However, we can get a rough guide to it and theories in the philosophy of mind have been developed to account for this 1. is "you cannot reliably predict free will purely because it is free" begging the question (L...

(2) a working definition of knowledge is what I mean by 'knowing how' that is, an ability, including all that is normally considered as both 'knowledge of' and 'knowledge how to' Dear Rantal, If one is to understand your theory you should be quite clear in your specific terminology.
