Re: Locked Mind Thought Experiment
You ARE the Awareness..aka Consciousness. How would it be "outside" of us??? I know I am a conscious awareness, I also know there is at least one other awareness conscious like me but DAM, and presumably you, appear to be claiming that there is only one Awareness in reality and in fact it...

Re: Locked Mind Thought Experiment
Except of course if what you you say is true then you couldn't know it is as what you say is just a thought. That is, Kant would then be right and any idea about what the Noumena is, Awareness, a Sim 'God', etc is just metaphysical wishful thinking. Unless of course I have got the wrong end of your...

Re: Would a naturalistic view of god be beneficial during our present animal extinction event?
I am a Gnostic Christian and that is a part of our ideology. If you do not see god in all, you will never find god at all, --- is how I sometimes put it. Are you a Gnostic? Regards DL No, I'm a fully awakened non-dualist. Consciousness (God), is the only thing in existence...based on personal first...

Re: Would a naturalistic view of god be beneficial during our present animal extinction event?
Would a naturalistic view of god be beneficial during our present animal extinction event? Nature gives us life and spirit. Our spirit gives us god. A god within each of us is very ancient thinking. We cannot define our gods exactly. We can only use analogies. I think that supernatural gods do not ...

Re: Effect of human activity on climate change is insignificant
Climate change is insignificant or significant based on one's political viewpoint, despite the scientific analyses which demonstrates its significance. Take a look around....icebergs melting, etc.

Re: The Physical, Life, Consciousness, and The Human Mind—A Preface
And therein lies the mistake; there never was a "you". As in the Biographical Self is pure fiction...there is no "you" that can be pointed to. However there is All Seeing Consciousness...which is a misnomer really...You Are The Seeing AND the What's Being Seen simultaneously.

Re: The Physical, Life, Consciousness, and The Human Mind—A Preface
Of course you reject my words. Don't let it bother you. I reject everyone's words, especially the words of all gurus, shamans, authorities, experts, academics, and philosophers. The basis for all I know is reason from evidence, or rational explanations that do not contradict anything I already know...

Re: What is consciousness to you?
I'm suggesting that you shouldn't believe anyone. Certainly not me by any means. I'm certainly not advocating any kind of cult worship like Jehovah's Witnesses! I'm suggesting that You are the Ultimate Authority and no one else! If everyone were the ultimate authority, how is cooperation achieved? ...

Re: What is consciousness to you?
No I'm not talking about any kind of belief system that needs some sort of authority figure to validate it. I'm talking about non duality which is based on first person experience. Why the hell would I need some so called "authority figure" to validate truth? I am not comparing panpsychis...

Why do you need a Sage? For validation? Is he the one who gives you the stamp of approval. Don't think for yourself, make sure you consult with the Sage first! )

Re: The Nature of Life
You're still not getting it. The physical does not know. Being is not physical nor is it a thing. Being has no shape, size, color or any limiting qualities whatsoever. It is infinite and eternal. It can partition itself into an infinite amount of subdivisions yet those subdivisions are the total sum...
