Re: Why sins are only forgiven before death?

Not sure what you mean. If you are a Christian, you can anytime confess and get your sins forgiven. Not only before death, And after death, again, if you are a Christian and believe in it sincerely, you go to purgatory and then you can have your sins forgiven. *Disclaimer: I am not a Christian, but ...

Re: The paradox of my life.

It's not a paradox at all. Guys that spend countless hours on Forums (of any kind), or playing some MMORPG, trying to reach high status/level in both, typically struggle with self confidence, or with recognition, in their "normal" lives. Everybody strives for recognition, and internet allo...

Re: Basic Truth Now

The mainstream media work alongside power to indoctrinate you into thinking a certain way. If you continue listening to this communication you can never truly be free from power's hold on you. This is right, and the non-mainstream media do the same. And even the threads you read on this forum indoc...

Re: Good Secondary Texts on Jean-Paul Sartre's Being and Nothingness?

In my opinion, this particular work of Sartre isn't that difficult that it needs any complimentary texts or interpretations. You should form your own interpretation and impression while reading the book, and it may very well differ from that one of Catlano. Reading secondary texts will just make you...

Re: Aristotle on friendship

If a friendship is based on usefulness we dump a friend if the particular advantage that made us seek the frinedship ceases. Because we love the advantage and not the friend who provides it. Would you agree ? He started his argument with a condition, so he was talking more of a sort of relationship...

Re: Most American CEOs Should be Indicted for Grand Larceny

If you speak about big "corporation", than it's not a CEO, but the BOD that makes a decision about charitable contributions, and so the CEO is not there to blame. If you speak about "small" corporations, than probably the CEO is the only "shareholder", and so he harms o...

Re: should incest between consenting adults be illegal

It's a cultural thing, yet a question. I've been to some places in South America where isolated groups of local tribes practiced what would Westerners would call incest (mostly because of very limited number of men). Yet they considered it absolutely normal, and there were nobody to tell them it was...

Re: What is an Artist?

Speaking from etymological point of view, artist is anyone with an extraordinary skill, obtained by learning or practice. Mother can be an artist, so can be a cook, an auto-mechanic, an accountant, a lover. One with a good eye can spot an artist in every profession. One with darkened mind full of th...
