Probably higher than bare hands.

Re: Connecticut School Massacre - pass the ammunition

And yet, suicide beat homicide 2 to 1 in the US and was up 60% worldwide the last time I checked Wiki's stats.

Re: Connecticut School Massacre - pass the ammunition

I suspect if we did not have gun laws in Australia, the country would be the same as the U S of A, probably worse. I think gun laws came into fruition here when the Tasmanian massacre happened. I am certain when people had to hand in their weapons, hundreds did not and I am certain there is a black...

Re: Has she got it right?

Gee you surprise me with your liberal attitude, I was expecting Catholicism to rear its ugly head Is my attitude liberal? I am not sure as I have never found any box that I can fit my beliefs into, so you may yet discover that I am not really all that liberal. I first decided to read the Bible at t...

Re: Has she got it right?

Reasonvemotion; For the situation that she has in mind, she may very well have it right. It is my guess that she has seen too many women, who take the position that they are entitled to a man's affection and devotion, but do not know how to return it--or do not feel the need to return it. So she is ...

Re: Connecticut School Massacre - pass the ammunition

This has been a very interesting thread, and I would like to thank the members, who provided videos and documentaries that added to the discussion. It was all very enlightening, but I especially enjoyed the video provided by Notvacka, as that was a perspective that I had not yet seen. For myself, my...

Re: Congratulations n Salutations

I notice, keenly, because I am the keen of notice sort of sight seeker and keen keeper, that no one here has bothered to say hello and offer a welcome. either disinterested in the new arrivals, or overly interested in themselves...? What is the general mental metal genus here? Any wise 'men' amongs...

Re: Time to say Hi!

Gee, I must disagree with your assumption that consciousness came into existance with Plato and others 2500 years age. You misunderstood my position. In the forum where I was studying when I wrote this post, there were people who had read some philosopher, who stated that the Ancient Greeks were no...

Re: Time to say Hi!

Arising_uk; Following is a post that I wrote last year describing the Dichotomies. It should answer your question regarding the division of the tangible and intangible in (9.) I have been told that there is an unresolvable problem with consciousness that is 2000 years old. I have never been trained ...

Re: Time to say Hi!

Gee, 1. The difference between life and AI. Is it mostly about "want"? I think so. What AI? Any AI (artificial intelligence) 2. Levels of consciousness/awareness in species and how this can be determined. You can't determine the levels of consciousness of other species relative to your own? This is...

Re: Time to say Hi!

Thankyou, It's nice to occasionally get lucky and post something that others can appreciate, I usually rub people the wrong way and get hostility. The Doc; I do not guarantee that I will never be hostile, but with you I doubt that I will. You actually listen and think, so most misunderstandings can...

Re: Time to say Hi!

1. The difference between life and AI. Is it mostly about "want"? I think so. Please elaborate... All life possesses an instinctive "want" to continue, and will do anything in its power to follow this goal. It will eat, sleep, reproduce, adapt, evolve, and do whatever is necessary to continue. This...

Re: Time to say Hi!

Intelligent discussion on any of the following topics, and probably a dozen more that I have forgotten to list, as they relate to consciousness, would be appreciated. If anyone has information on any of these subjects, please refer me to a thread or PM me or e-mail me with your thoughts. If you have...

Re: Time to say Hi!

Religion is simple not the study of consciousness in any sense I can think of. It could be described as the study of man's consciousness in relation to God's consciousness, among other things. The Doc; Yes! Exactly. This is the second time you have done this for me. You read my words, roll them aro...
