Re: What causes porn addiction???

Personally, while I can see why men and women (a recent study reported around 30% in the UK regularly use it) enjoy porn I think that it probably does more harm than good. I'd be very interested to hear your views on why you think porn does more harm than good. I agree with you, as a matter of fact...

Re: Life shapes

Hello AS, Beautifully expressed! I think it would be great if everyone could be taught to view the world in the same manner as an artist, for it makes the 'ordinary' magical. I do this with plants and trees. As well as seeing meaningful shapes in gnarled tree trunks, I like to study plants in great ...

Re: Life shapes

The patterns of life are indeed fascinating. The image of human lungs below is identical in structure to a tree with its main trunk and numerous branches. Moss, lichens and algae comprise a similar structure. This is a practical shape, since all these branching structures are involved in gaseous exc...

Post as often as you like if it gives you pleasure! That's what I do. By the way, I've never regarded myself as a philosopher, amateur or otherwise. I don't think I've ever studied a single book on philosophy, well not the mainstream philosophers. I've only read bits here and there. From the fragmen...

Mr Black, 'cor blimey mate, the Christmas spirit has finally reached the parts it normally has difficulty finding in the dark. Hallelujah! Having said that, I'm not going over the top here. I'm exclaiming in a downbeat Leonard Cohen tone. I mean, you'd be none too pleased to hear a host of angelic v...

I'm agreeing with you Mark. Additionally, another way to help save our local flora is to eat it. I mean, who'd stand by and watch the developers destroy the hedgerow that has provided many summers of juicy berries; or allow them to tarmac that ancient meadow with its abundance of wild mushrooms and ...

Edith Piaf was French. Although I'm not madly keen on her musical genre, I'm deeply moved by the emotion she expresses in that particular song. By all accounts, she had a very hard life. Known as the 'little sparrow', she was only about 4ft 8in in height and slightly built. But what a BIG voice! I'l...

For example, what is the role and nature of spirituality in a world with a future? I think your ideas should fare very well. Mark I've lost you there. I've read the above over and over and still can't work out what you are asking. Is there a typo? Are you asking what is the role of nature and a spi...

Mark, yet again my pointy pixie ears are aquiver. Frequently in your writing you see only this or that, rarely (if ever) this and that. For example, we need a fully functioning Earth system not just for our physical survival, but also for our inner sense of wellbeing. I climb a hill or mountain when...
