Re: Poetry Bin

Hi mhoraine I wonder if after all the delays and at least 4 explanations of your situation, the initial incident seemed less 'hot' ? Less 'hot' perhaps, but no less pressing and disturbing. I still felt trapped and that the landscape of my world had changed such that there was nowhere truly comforta...

Re: Poetry Bin

I was recently attacked by someone I live with, which caused a deterioration of my emotional state. I spoke to the samaritans who, after I had explained my situation, referred me to NHS direct who, after I had explained my situation, referred me to the A&E where, after I had explained my situation t...

Re: North West England

I'm not in Yorkshire currently.

I see no philosophers from India on the boards, so I suppose there are none?

Re: Happy New Year!

Not just one good thing, many, and in a fundamental way. In the past it was not unusual for me to sleep 16 hours of the day and do nothing with the remainder, I am now sleeping 5 hours a night and finding it hard to cram everything I want to into my waking hours. If anything comes of this, I will le...

Re: North West England

Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I used to live in Leeds, Liverpool currently.

Re: Principle of Charity

Hey A_uk , chowder monkey was a term of endearment, tipping has absolutely bollock all to do with it but was used as an example of how a word can have multiple meanings. You said you thought a 'Principle of Charity' had to do with the donation of resources to the needy, but in this context Charity i...

Re: Principle of Charity

And how good do you think I think I am at it?

The Principle of Charity says that where someone's words can be interpreted as being meaningful, coherent and valid then they should be. It shouldn't be forgotten that there are times when they cannot be so interpreted ;)
