"So, tell me, does anyone 'deserve it'? If so, why?"

yep

different folks deserve it for different reasons (but that's between me and them)

-----

there's killin' as a defense of self, others, and property: not murder

there's killin' for gain: murder

there's killin' cuz some folks just plainly need to be dead: murder

I endorse the first & third.

"How are you defining the word 'murder' here?"

Killing done for any reason other than self-defense.

why is murder wrong?

tell me

i say it's wrong cuz i own me and take a dim view of bein' deprived of my property...if it's wrong to whack me then it's wrong to whack the other guy (unless he really deserves it)

the US is a constitutional republic, not a democracy

-1- The way it's supposed to work (in the American system): majority rules within the confines of the constitution (and laws extending out of the constitution). That is: the majority calls the shots but can't abuse the minority in the process. Example: no one may like bald, scrawny, one-eyed bastids...

Roy wrote: 'If you can sit in a chair indefinitely without doing or thinking anything' blah, blah, blah. He didn't say anything like 'Plenty of hunters sit motionless and alert for long periods of time.' He described a houseplant; you, Walker, described 'me' when I take the shotgun out into the wood...

"Asserting it seems crucial..."

Can't see why: it is what it is, plain as the nose on a face. Only retards (or philosophers) pick at these nits.

"So, you mean, the Law just means that a thing really is itself and that's a law." It means the thing is the thing and is no other thing. And it's a 'law' in the way 'law' is used in 'the laws of physics' which is to say it's a codified observation on what 'is'. # "But, what's the use of saying that...

"Jane is Jane is false"

Only if comparing two different Janes. But "LeftJane is LeftJane' is true. The L of I refers to a reality, not the placeholder for the reality. You can have 1000 Janes, which is to say 1000 unique individuals all sharing the same placeholder. The placeholder, the label, the signifier, is not identit...

SP, You wanted the common, intuitive definition, yeah? As I say... The L Of I is: The thing is the thing and no other. My coffee cup is my coffee cup and no other. I am me and no other. Seems to me I satisfied your requirements of "don't ramble. Keep to the point and leave the question of the logic ...

hey, Mannie

Nah, he don't have to smite the Hittites: he just has to weather the jackasses (with a knife).
