Hitler was genocidal and evil. Yahweh’s genocides are good; say Christians, Muslims & Jews! -- ?

Hitler was genocidal and evil. Yahweh’s genocides are good; say Christians, Muslims & Jews! -- ? I must be reading the religionist nice guys wrong. Religions are supposed to be religions of peace. Not of war. Genocide is a war god’s tool. I do not want to believe that my parents who ere Christians, ...

Re: Is there a boundary on our free will?

You cannot protect the idea of a creator God while preserving the idea of freewill. I think you might be able to do so, if like me, in this case, you see no conflict between god and nature on our evolution. It gets a bit longer if you wish to pursue this thinking. =========== Eve was correct in eat...

Re: Is there a boundary on our free will?

The entire record of knowledge discovery is finding that which acts causally and then accepting that fact as a prerequisite for discovering other facts. The very existence of knowledge disproves free will. We find constraints literally anywhere and everywhere we can test - it's what the act of meas...

Re: The Passion discredited

If someone can pay for someone else's sins (much less give them a nature that inevitably results in sin), the idea of responsibility is impossible. Let me disagree with this with an example. I can pay my children's fines to keep them out of trouble, but that does not mean that they will not learn t...

Re: The Passion discredited

If someone can pay for someone else's sins (much less give them a nature that inevitably results in sin), the idea of responsibility is impossible. If responsibility is impossible, ethics is impossible. If ethics is impossible, the original contention can only be judged useful or not by individuals...

Age. "You will have to argue, soundly and validly, and thus prove that there is a, so called, "positive side" first before this could be answered, properly and correctly." The positive side of racism/tribalism is quite apparent. That side includes the fellowship that we seek with out peers. Racism/t...

Re: Does the positive side of tribalism/racism outshine the negative side?

"But if you say EVERY individual is born the fittest, then how could there be any that are 'unfit'?" The fittest of his line does not make him the fittest of the species. Even a down baby, for instance, if the newest of his line, will be the best possible downs baby possible. It is demonstrable that...

"Is there ANY actual EVIDENCE and PROOF that there is a, so called, "selfish gene's love bias of tribalism and racism for 'our' own kind and color", or is this just an attempt at "justifying" your ALREADY held beliefs and views?" There is tons of evidence for this and yes, I use it to justify my pos...

"You will have to argue, soundly and validly, and thus prove that there is a, so called, "positive side" first before this could be answered, properly and correctly." Re: Does the positive side of tribalism/racism outshine the negative side?

there is no positive side to tribalism, its born into the DNA of man - like all other animals that are also tribal. it served survival while on the savanna, when the other tribe was stealing your food. but no longer works in the modern world, and why we had ww1, ww2, the cold war, and the next many...

Did judas sin when he betrayed Jesus? Is there an explanation of sin that doesn't offend a deity?
Sin is well defined and much of it is subjective.

I do not think Judas sinned. I see him as the real hero.

thanks for the reply Mogley.
I have read parts of it but this O.P. is a pure Christian text analysis and story line. I have not included anything Gnostic.

Re: Does the positive side of tribalism/racism outshine the negative side?

Arguing in favor of tribalism/racism is entirely alarming: it is a part of the problem, not any solution. These are rooted in "belief"-based identities, the existence of which serves to perpetuate "us vs. them" mentalities, as are so widely endorsed by those who are attempting to generate hatred fo...
