Re: Faith

DL: Your anger against me is misplaced. I see your arguments, and I know them very well. I have read the sources that have led you to your position. I think they're erroneous. The bottom line: I just don't agree with you. That is all. No hard feelings, as we do not know each other beyond this disem...

Re: Faith

The crucifixion was a show put on by God because mankind was incapable of understanding the sin, repentance, forgiveness and reconciliation thing that had been offered. This gave mankind something to believe in, the book of Job illustrates man's inability to get past the sin/punishment mentality, s...

Re: Faith

DL: You only publicly confirm what I said. There is no "Christian" Gnosticism. They're two different beliefs entirely...and as you say, you believe that God as He is described in the Bible is, to use your words, "not worthy of spit." The defence rests. Your defence is not worth spit. You go ahead a...

They call it education but such things fills their minds with unneeded garbage. Show me the amount of true vegans, true good honest people in the world with functioning brains. Next to zero. Try moving to another community. Yours is not helping your functioning brains. Why do I want to lengthen a l...

Re: Do you think God wants less for his children than what y

They could do more for sure but they are not doing that badly. I asked our friend to show any area where evil has actually increased and you will note that he has not meet the challenge. I also have information showing that more of us are being educated, fed and given medical services every year wh...

Re: Do you think God wants less for his children than what y

. Never had any kids - but the hog in trough game seems to be, to a large part, what is making this life on earth pure hell for an ever increasing number of people - in each coming generation. Seems that you do not know how to look at the world. Every marker for evil I check is at the best level th...

Re: Faith

I differentiate between true Christianity (what Christ taught) from what it became,Constantine Christianity. The jury is still out on the miracle working son of God but if a God then the sacrifice was a scam as God cannot die and Jesus as a part of the Trinity would not be stupid enough to condemn ...

Re: Faith

You won't know what you're observing unless you have some idea what your subject (i.e. "Christianity") actually involves. If you think Gnosticism is even potentially part of it, you simply don't. I agree that Gnostic Christianity can never become a part of the Christianity we suffer today. It is to...

Re: Faith

The Gnostic gospels were just as legitimate as any other. Then they got repressed because the ones selected ( by men, not God) facilitated hierarchy and bureaucracy. Something the elites ( Constantine) wanted. The elites did not want the sayings of Jesus that advocated a personal experience of God....

Re: Faith

Tell that to Pagels and many other scholars. If you knew much about the scholarship on Gnosticism, you'd know that a lot of it is highly skeptical of Pagels. And with good reason. Her work on Gnostics has some merit, but her glosses on Christianity are really badly wide of the mark. But you'd actua...

Re: Faith

David: You're going to find that if you argue with a Gnostic you'll get nowhere. It won't be because you're wrong, but because they do not bind themselves to the ordinary rules of logic or language. They're so convinced that whatever they believe is a product of higher illumination, that whatever y...

Re: Faith

Jesus said that the kingdom of God was both within us and all around us but that most do not see it. I do. If God is among us, are you seeing God? If not then you are one of the ones Jesus was talking about. Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole ...
