Re: The Feminization of Mankind

I do not agree with one thing on Mr. Butlin´s list: that the society wants to weaken and humiliate men. Someone who feels weak tries sometimes to weaken and humiliate others hoping that he (or she) will feel better afterwards. This is a mistake. It creates a vicious circle, because the humiliated on...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

I do not think that power is a sort of cake and thus a share taken by one is a loss for someone else.

Power can mulitply when new enterprises emerge.
Or it can shrink when chaos takes over.

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

Kind criticism is a gift and should be appreciated. And it should go in both directions. Is it wrong for a wife to say to her driving husband: "You have turned in the wrong direction, darling. We are heading north now, instead of west." Also a child should be entitled to point out to a parent a mist...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

Did Mrs. Punkhurst (God bless her) want men to be weak, humiliated, whining and sissy ? She wanted dignity for all, including women. Controlling an adult human being who is not insane is a violation of this person´s dignity. Be is a woman, a black person (slaves in America), an Indian ("India can´t ...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

A man who controls a woman wastes his resources. Imagine a man who wants to achieve something in his life and who buys himself a dog hoping that controlling the dog will make him more successful in his life. This is ridiculous. Being able to control one thing does not make you able to control anothe...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

Dear Mr. Butlin, trying to control an adult woman is a violation of her dignity. It results in embitterment or worse. Maybe that is why you had no luck with women. They all wanted to get rid of you because you seemed to be crazy. You sound like a gentleman though. Maybe if you reconsidered you would...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

Could it be that men who fail in the world turn to controlling women ? Or children ?
A sad last resort ...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

You cannot control everything.
If men were busy controlling women would they have enough time and energy left to control things in the outside world ?

I am sorry that you have had no luck with women, Mr. Butlin.

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

But I do not mean manipulation.

Manipulation is when you do not let the other person see the whole picture because you expect to get some advantage from it. I hate it.

You can reassure someone without manipulating him.

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

Prof. Hüther did not suggest that the biological weakness of men should have as a consequence that men are to be forced into submission or eradicated or whatever. He was promoting the truth as a scientist and he provided scientific arguments. Innate weakness makes a being look for support and streng...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

I heard a lecture yesterday, in the institute of zoology, delivered by Prof. Hüther, who explained that the male sex is biologically weaker, because of the lack of the second X gene. Women have this "spare wheel" and therefore recover better after a stroke for example, because they have a speech cen...

Re: The Feminization of Mankind

I agree, the content is atrocious, but the style is good. :D It is for exactly the same reason that I read "Thus spoke Zarathustra" every now and then. Men wish to control women because they hope that this control will give them a sense of power. They need it because they are the weaker gender. Have...

Re: New to Philosophy Now

It is not a necessary implication.
He also might have meant that everyone examines his life, more or less, but some people consider it a waste of time. He wanted encourage everyone to examine.
